Found another Historical farm market in the County and this one started in 1969 by Murray and June Campbell.
orchards has apple orchards and you can pick your own seasonal berries. One of my favourite finds here is their own dark maple syrup. I find doing shots of maple syrup helps fend off the blues of the world so I like to stock up everywhere I can. Dark syrup has much more flavour & I never can get enough of it as it's harder to find.

If I see fresh Ontario garlic anywhere, I'm buying it. I make Ontario garlic paste and can them into jars to store for the winter so I never run out of Ontario garlic.

Another score here was a product I have never seen before. A peanut butter made with Canadian Grown nuts. It was at a premium price but it is SO delicious I regret not buying 1 more. It's worth the small splurge ($12.99). Very natural tasting and unlike other peanut butters I've tried. I'll have beans for dinner just to get one more jar of this peanut butter.

Campbell's has lots of wonderful & familiar Ontario brands here that would find in traditional country markets and not in your chain stores. Worth a visit.

What happens in the County should be known by everyone outside the County!

I'm spending a few days here to explore historical farm markets. There's a lot of history in these traditional farm markets and it's a story worth sharing. These markets do an amazing job of bringing fresh local Ontario produce to you at reasonable prices. The quality and freshness don't compare to what you would find in a regular chain store.

This is Lakeshore Farms Market - a modest stand with a LOT of history. Started in 1956 by James "Clifford" Channell who was born and raised in the County. This is now a 4th generation Family Farm stand in Wellington Ontario. I was super impressed by the quality and selection of their produce.

Worth a stop if you're in PEC.

PSA: Ontario Asparagus Season ended a while ago.

Yesterday I complained to a staff member in produce why they had this local asparagus sign outside the store. They admitted local Ontario Asparagus Season is over and they were not responsible for making these decisions they were doing as told. It was almost scripted. Yesterday the asparagus was from Mexico.

Today the sign is still outside facing the opposite direction and asparagus is from Peru.

I've said this before, I'll say this again. It's very important to trust the people you buy food from.

Do better.
