Recap of our favorite local eats from August 🧡 (Sacramento + Roseville)

📍 :
We tried a couple of their classic flavors topped with cereal, as well as a couple of filled malasadas! Their shop is closed for the next couple of weeks, but once they reopen, you should definitely treat yourself 😋😋

📍 :
Sacramento’s own little Korean and Vietnamese diner/deli! We really loved the kimbap here, and I was so excited to try their take on the egg salad sandwich. So pillowy soft and yummy!

This spot will be in our regular date night rotation. Loved the food and vibe here 👌🏼

Gunther’s is an old favorite, and with the heat in Sacramento, a 50/50 is always worth stopping here again and again.

📍 Mo Du Rang Family Korean Restaurant:
My husband and I ordered a couple of combos and had a car picnic FEAST. We ate while our toddlers were asleep 😂, so we definitely plan on coming back and dining in for the full experience and to try more from the menu.

Loved this AYCE option! The fish was fresh and delicious, and we loved the lychee sorbet for dessert.

This Filipino-owned cafe is one of our favorite spots in Roseville, but recently changed owners. They’ve redecorated and added to the menu. Kultura even serves Gunther’s ice cream and one of our favorite twists on halo-halo!

They have really fun treats here! We loved the mangonada, and they have one of my faves, fresas con crema!

Tagliatelle pasta with beef short rib ragu, anyone? 😙🤌🏼

at the is such a gem! Chef is serving up gastropub fare—a cuisine known for its creative and elevated twists on hearty comfort foods—and incorporating local ingredients.

We tried dishes like…
🌟 Tagliatelle pasta with beef short rib ragu
🌟 Roasted young chicken with cherry bbq sauce and Latin rice
🌟 Freshly baked parker house rolls with local honey butter and flake sea salt
🌟 Decadent bread pudding with butterscotch and creme anglaise

Our meal was absolutely delicious, and the hospitality was top notch! (Shoutout to our server Katelyn for being the sweetest with our kids!) We had a great experience here, the kind that makes you want to come back again ASAP. Definitely SAVE this for planning your next trip to Carmel!

Inscribed on the back of each room key is a simple message: “Escape. Unwind. Discover.” There are so many little details to appreciate about this hotel! Swipe to see a little peek at our family’s stay here!

It’s been awhile since I’ve dusted off the ol’ camera, and this was the perfect place to take photos. 😍 I’ll be editing a full Hotel + Room Tour, so stay tuned for that! Have a nice, long weekend everybody!

Saying HELLO to a lot of new friends here! 👋🏼😊 I thought it’d be a good time to reintroduce myself and recap what this page is about…

My name is Jullie! I’m a wife and mom who loves to plan mini adventures for my family. We’re based in NorCal, and we love to explore.

If you like quick, easy getaways like us, and want to find the little ✨ jewels ✨ that California has to offer, follow along… 😉

• More than anything, I love to highlight local restaurants, coffee shops, cafes/bakeries, etc. EATING is truly our favorite way to travel. 😋Whether we’re in our own neighborhood or a new city, I’ll always encourage you to support local small businesses.

• I share DAY TRIP ideas and ROAD TRIP stops that we’ve enjoyed and would do again and again. With two toddlers, road-tripping has become our preferred method of getting around, and there’s SO MUCH to see!

• A lot of our travels are inspired by the outdoors. We try to find unique experiences for our kids, and our big beautiful state has an incredible variety. The water, especially, is our happy place! That’s usually where you’ll find us 😄

• I’ll also share places to stay… boutique hotels, campgrounds/glamping sites, and other lodging that we’ve fallen in love with and can’t wait to make a return trip to!

✨ My content will always be family-friendly, but sometimes, I’ll include date ideas and getaways for mom and dad only. ☺️
