We've Gone Digital!
We would like to let you know that all of the Portland Collection recordings are now available for digital download on our Bandcamp page, https://susansonger.bandcamp.com. This is the only place you will find digitalized versions of:
*A Portland Play Along Selection--a double CD with 97 tunes from Portland Collections 1 and 2 with the tunes played at moderate tempos sticking closely to their printed vesrsions. This recording has been engineered so that either the melody or the back up can be turned down to enable focus on one part or the other. You can download either one of the discs or both of them. You can also download single tracks. Unlike the hard-copy discs where each tune is on a separate track, the digitalized version of the Play Along on Bandcamp is tracked in medleys.
*Tune of the Gods--Clyde Curley’s wonderful mandolin recording, now out of print, is available digitazlly, including the original artwork and liner notes. Most of the tunes on this recording can be found in the Portland Collections.
In addition, digitalized versions of A Portland Selection 1 and 2 are available on this page. They are available for download elsewhere, too. You can find hard-copy versions of all the recordings (except Tunes of the Gods) at the Portland Collection website, www.theportlandcollection.com.
About Those Portland Collection Apps for Android Devices...
Developer Ralph Canapa is working on these apps for Android devices. The protocol he needs has only recently become available. Apps for Androids are still a ways away. We will let you know when they are available.
And Also...
Eventually, I will send out blogs featuring some of our favorite new tunes here in Portland. I may include some of my thoughts about music and dance. If you would like to receive posts from this blog, sign up for those at the Portland Collection website (see above) or email me: songer at portcoll dot com.
Thank you for your interest in our music! We wish you much enjoyment with our books and recordings.
