If you needed your daily reminder that the prequel era Jedi were blind, I will now refer you to the scene in the 2nd one wherein the Sith Apprentice tells Obi-Wan to his face that the Dark Lord of the Sith is in control of the senate, and he just goes "nuh uh" and they have 8 years of war before figuring out that Dooku told the entire truth right out of the gate before Clone boots even hit soil, and all of it was avoidable
