I’m always on the lookout for good moto gear, and while I was in Sturgis I found the Kuryakyn Cameo Flannel Women’s Moto Shirt at the Turn 14 Distribution display on Lazelle Street, right across from J&P.

The outer shell is a very soft 100% cotton flannel with a four-way stretch; very important to me while my arms are extended forward to the handlebars. Even the lining, constructed of cotton/poly, is soft enough to wear without a shirt underneath.

The shirt has a two-way zipper (in other words, you can zip/unzip from bottom to top, or top to bottom), which is hidden behind snaps. This means that very little air sneaks in at the front of the shirt. It's also got two front hidden snap flap patch pockets. The collar points also feature hidden snaps that will not allow the wind to cause the collar to whip back and slap you in the face or neck.

It's got a zipped inside pocket on the left front of the shirt--very handy for chapstick, credit card, that $20 emergency bill, etc. The shirt also has two zippered "hand warmer" pockets. More storage place is always a plus!

There are "action back" gussets at each side of the shirt, which allows your arms to extend in front of you without pulling on the material. This shirt also features aramid-reinforced elbows, articulated curved sleeves, and snaps at each cuff. Aramid reinforced shoulders are another feature of this shirt. And the piping at the arms, chest, and back yoke seams is reflective as well.

This piece of apparel comprises pretty much all the features I look for in a riding shirt, combining both form and function in a stylish, well-fitting package. Suffice it to say, although I have a bunch of other flannel shirts, and more than a few riding shirts, this one beats them all in terms of comfort, protection, and… very important… packability. A link to the shirt on Kuryakyn’s website is in the comments below.

I'm cleaning house! I've got a plethora of motorcycle-themed books that I don't need; everything from novels to tech guides to chopper books, some going back 25 years or so. If you are in the tri-state area of NJ/NY/PA, within easy driving distance of Morris County, NJ, and you want 'em, they're yours no charge. Just meet me halfway. If you're not local and you want any, just pay for shipping. For anyone that's really and truly interested, I can take photos of all the covers and share them with you.

If any of my peeps have an e-mailed FID, PTC, SORA, or other paper card that is emailed to you, and you don't want to carry it around in your wallet because it's easily ripped or can get wet, or because it's too big and won't even fit in your wallet, I've got a great solution! Yeah, you can laminate it, but that makes it even bigger, and the laminate can peel. NJ Liberty Cards can help you out! If you go to the website and upload the file you've received electronically, Chad will make a plastic card for you that will fit in your wallet, is waterproof, and is a lot more durable than paper. You'll receive it in the mail before you know it! You can also send him insurance cards, registration cards, or any card you can download or receive by email.

Last Saturday, we attended a fundraiser hosted by Women for Gun Rights and Coalition of NJ Fi****ms Owners. We got to meet some of the movers and shakers of the NJ 2A community, and to support our efforts in NJ. We've come a long way, but there's a lot more to be done. Emcee was Kelly Ann Pidgeon, Northeast Regional Director - Women for Gun Rights. Speakers were Anthony Colandro, "Capitalist Marksman," NRA Board Member, Gun for Hire Radio podcaster, and CEO of Gun For Hire, LLC who by the way is the main sponsor of the Riveter Chapter AMCA National Road Run. Thanks to Anthony, Rich, Matt, and the crew at GFH for their support--more in a future post. The second speaker was Jo LoPorto, Director - Civil Liberties Policy Research Center of New Jersey and Director of Legal Operations - NJFOS. Lastly, we heard from Barbara Holstein - Vice Chair Sussex County GOP and Women for Gun Rights delegate. The venue, The Mansion on Main, was spectacular, and the food was superb. I'm happy to support these efforts to preserve and advance our 2A rights in NJ.

I could use some suggestions from my antique motorcycle-riding friends: Anyone know of any vintage motorcycle swap meets happening in January, February, or early March in the NJ/NY/PA tri-state area? Please comment here with a link if you know of anything. Thank you!

Pic for attention: this was at the Motorcyclepedia Museum Swap Meet held this past Sunday. Hey, do you know this guy that photobombed my shot? 😆

Last chance for my friends before these parts go on Marketplace! Everything else has been sold. Buy all three of these parts, and I'll make you a deal.

Road King Two-Up Luggage Rack (goes over the rear fender, not the back seat): Current MSRP is $270, I'm asking $135. It's in pretty good shape, but you will need the 4-point docking system to install it. Here's the link: https://www.harley-davidson.com/us/en/shop/king-h-d-detachables-two-up-luggage-rack/p/50300054B?source_cd=SEM_Shop_PLA%7CGOOGLE%7CPLA_Standard_Shopping_All_Products%7CShopping_All_Products%7C50300054B&_cr=pla%7CGOOGLE%7CPLA_Standard_Shopping_All_Products%7CShopping_All_Products%7C50300054B&s_kwcid=AL!15884!3!676285511967!!!g!297767877055!&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw-JG5BhBZEiwAt7JR68dGKGbbcIw6Pi7sePIiJ0HvGxsJN8ExBSaIy6_krkfLVXDFckBVSRoCy9EQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

Harley-Davidson Upright Standard Detachable Sissy Bar with the Comfort Stitch Passenger Backrest. Current price on sissy bar is $215, current price on backrest is $125. Backrest is already attached to the sissy bar. I'm asking $150 for both. Both are in pretty good shape. You will need the 4-point docking system to install this on the bike if you are also mounting the luggage rack. Here are the links for these two parts: https://www.harley-davidson.com/.../h-d.../p/52627-09A and https://www.harley-davidson.com/.../comfort.../p/51727-05A

And so it begins... Let's just say it's a slippery slope once I jump on the apparel bandwagon.

My friend and sister antique motorcyclist Karan Andrea is selling an enclosed trailer which is located in South Carolina. She bought it new just a few months ago for the sole purpose of moving her belongings to a new home. It's a 2024 Carry-On enclosed trailer, 6x12 single axle. It's in great shape and everything works. The sales link is in the first comment. Please share with anyone that might be interested.
