We wanted a chicken coop, but I didn’t want it to be boring. So one morning over coffee, I started sketching—and out came this giant rooster idea that made me laugh way too hard. Big comb, swoopy tail feathers, the whole thing. My husband thought I was joking... I wasn’t.

A few weekends, a lot of wood, and one very patient woodworker from the Tedooo app later, we had this big goofy beauty standing proudly in the yard. It legit looks like a giant chicken watching over the garden, and it cracks me up every time I see it.

We added flower boxes under the windows because if you’re going whimsical, you might as well go all in. Now they’re packed with petunias, impatiens, and whatever else looks cute that week. I also get most of my plants from small growers on Tedooo—they always have the prettiest stuff.

Every time someone visits, they ask about it. Some think it’s an art piece, some think it’s a kid’s playhouse. Then they hear the clucking. Surprise—it’s an actual working coop, just with a lot more personality than most.

It brings us eggs, it brings us joy, and it makes people smile. I’d call that a win.
