In 2009 a vision came to CEO of Upriza records to find a way to uplift and support the Native American entertainment and music business field. the first annual was held in Auburn Wa. at the White River Amphitheater in 2009, The second annual was held in Lummi WA 2010, and the third annual was held in Hilo Hawaii 2011. Following the third annual A break was taken and during that time CEO Tuskin obt
ained a degree in business and moved to Southern California. With vision, determination, and degree in hand we are proud to announce that the fourth annual will be held spring of 2014 in Los Angeles CA. The event is to bring the encouragement to our Native people in the music industry to succeed and grow! as the WCAIMA official board members: Robert Guthrie, Billy Killzemall, Daniel Hicks, Tuskin, Tim Ballard, and Michelle Hall Shining ElK. Our mission statement: “To respect all cultures and backgrounds by including all cultures around the world. To provide high quality entertainment and support entertainers needs of financially succeeding in the business. To help fight the stereotypes of Native people in the entertainment business. The building of relationships in the entertainment business for support and growth. Giving back to the community is important and a percentage of proceed will go back to enhance the Native American entertainment field. The over all mission is to support and uplift our Native American performers. The empowerment of giving our Native American artists an award for there hard work is a positive step forward in there future.
