Zombies mode returns in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, continuing the Dark Aether Saga narrative and featuring Round-Based Zombies. All maps in Black Ops 7 takes place inside of the Dark Aether.

Grigori Weaver, Elizabeth Grey, Mackenzie Carver, and Maya Aguinaldo return as playable characters following the end of Reckoning in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. They are joined by new "Dark Aether" versions of Edward Richtofen, "Tank" Dempsey, Takeo Masaki, and Nikolai Belinski. Any of the 8 playable characters can be selected for a run and will have unique dialog and interactions with each other on each map. The new crew is neither Primis or Ultimis, and their backstory will be revealed over the course of Black Ops 7's story.

The launch map has been described as the largest round based map ever created, and includes multiple zones for players to fight in as well as fog covered roads connecting them. The map is heavily inspired by TranZit from Call of Duty: Black Ops II, including recreations of the Farm, Diner. and Power Station. Players move between zones using the Wonder Vehicle, an upgradeable truck that can be controlled by any player.

Survival returns from Black Ops II, where players are given all the necessary utilities they need to survive until the highest round possible on individual portions of the main map. There are no quests or easter eggs in Survival. The first Survival map will be Farm, with additional maps added over the course of the year.

As apart of the 𝐏𝐆𝐋𝐎® × Black Ops:® 7 collaboration we welcome these legends into the 𝐏𝐆𝐋𝐎® family.
