Five days until ! Do you remember the film *Event Horizon*? We welcomed best-selling horror novelist Scott Kenemore () to talk about this 1997 haunted spaceship tale. TBH, just recording the episode was scary enough for Tracie, but Emily and Scott geeked out about cosmic horror, the similarity of the spaceship's architecture to that of European cathedrals, and how satisfying it is that advanced technology like a spaceship might bring humanity face-to-face with some of our most ancient fears. We are going to celebrate by spending the week looking back at Horror and Thrillers we've featured on Deep Thoughts, starting today with Michael Jackson's Thriller -- the music video that changed the game and that employed the tropes of with a wink at the audience. When we looked back at it, we also thought about how to contextualize Jackson’s immense talent with the troubled and abusive life he led. The latest episode of Deep Thoughts dropped TODAY! Tracie remembered *A Fish Called Wanda* as a fun and harmless romp. Upon rewatch, it was none of the above. There was, however, a fascinating meditation about the difference between British and American culture. Brit who wrote and starred in the movie, seems to suggest British people are all a little dead inside. Americans like are alive but so crass as to be reprehensible. It's a classic comedy film about a diamond heist gone wrong, unlike the recent breakin at the Louvre Musem in Paris, A Fish Called Wanda is the topic for this week's Deep Thoughts About Stupid Sh*t episode.

Tracie expected to enjoy revisiting this classic comedy, but found plenty to cringe worthy moments. Listen in as she explains why this movie is hard to watch in 2025.

That's what happened to Disney's *Beauty & the Beast* when we realized the "servants" were *literally* turned into the prince's possessions. Um...wow.
