Lucky enough to see the snowdrops at Burford Priory on 11 February. The Jacobean house is on the site of a thirteenth-century Augustinian hospital and is now privately owned. Although the house is in the town, the gardens are fairly extensive. The owner opens the grounds for the snowdrop walk and gives the entry fees to local charities.

"For the Fallen":
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

Publishing shortly in hardback, paperback, and ebook: "Immigrant Voices in the Pandemic" is a powerful collection of stories that showcase how the COVID-19 period has influenced the way we create art. This anthology is a testimony to how art can deliver our common humanity, especially in times of crisis, smuggling stories of immigration, exile, and loneliness into the pandemic frame. Thank you to the editors Roxana Cazan & Domnica Radulescu for crafting such a moving anthology. Further details on our website: https://solispress.com/9781910146859.html

On this day in 1913, Emily Wilding Davison died as a result of her injuries after colliding with the king's racehorse. But what of the man who feels responsible for killing her? Herbert "Bertie" Jones was that jockey and "The King's Jockey" is a fictionalized version of the events around the tragic events.

I can’t quite believe that it is over nine years since we published “Stitching Resistance: Women, Creativity, and Fiber Arts.” It’s a collection of essays written by distinguished scholars, visual artists, and writers. The common thread is about the ways that fiber arts have enriched and empowered the lives of women. From Ancient Greece to the Holocaust, to the work of grassroots organizations, these essays illustrate the universality of fiber arts.
