Recall Florida Founders Carmen Reynolds and Chance Johnmeyer Advocated for Democrats. June 5, 2023 - DEMOCRATS REACT DURING COUNTY COMMISSION MEETING: Environmental Activist Carmen Reynolds (pictured at the podium) joined around a half dozen Democrats and a few other citizens who showed up during today's Santa Rosa County Board of County Commission public forum to speak out in support of Democrats after District 3 Commissioner James Calkins, during a May 25 board meeting, refused to support the appointment of a Democrat to a County Advisory Board, stating he preferred to appoint a Republican instead. Supporters of Recall Florida, including Reynolds and Chance & Renee Johnmeyer, were among those who spoke out against Calkins. (South Santa Rosa News).

"I was once a Democrat," said Sharon Hawthone, who said she changed to the Republican party because she doesn't support abortion. She and a couple of others requested for Calkins to resign and said she will file an ethics complaint against him.
