Today is National Loving Day, a reminder that the government once believed it had the power to control who Americans could marry simply because of skin color.
In Loving v. Virginia (1967), the Supreme Court struck down bans on in*******al marriage, but only after Mildred and Richard Loving were arrested for being married.
That’s what happens when government oversteps and inserts itself into our most personal choices.
