Cape May Court House, New Jersey - Cape May Court House, NJ – Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey H. Sutherland and Middle Township Police Chief Tracey Super announce the arrest of Harold Perez, 34, of the Green Creek section of Middle Township, following a multi-agency investigation into the distribution of controlled dangerous substances.
On August 11, 2025, the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office Gangs, Guns, and Narcotics Task Force, in cooperation with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Cape May County Regional SWAT Team executed court-authorized search warrants on several residences and a motor vehicle associated with Perez.
As a result of the searches, law enforcement seized approximately 2,100 bags of he**in, over one-half ounce of co***ne, a R***r handgun, drug paraphernalia consistent with distribution, approximately $10,000 in U.S. currency. Investigators also recovered additional evidence indicating Perez was operating a drug manufacturing facility.
Harold Perez was charged with Maintaining a Narcotics Manufacturing Facility, a crime of the First Degree; Possession with the intent to Distribute of He**in, a crime of the First Degree; Possession with Intent to Distribute Co***ne, a crime of the Second Degree; Possession of a Firearm while Committing a Drug Offense, a crime of the Second Degree; Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a crime of the Second Degree; Conspiracy to Distribute He**in, a crime of the Second Degree; Possession of He**in, a crime of the Third Degree; Possession of Co***ne, a crime of the Third
Degree; Transport or Possess Property Derived from Criminal Activity, a crime of the Third Degree; Hindering Apprehension, a crime of the Third Degree and the Distribution of Drug Paraphernalia, a crime of the fourth Degree.
Harold Perez was processed and lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Facility pending Court proceedings.
Under New Jersey law, individuals convicted of a first-degree crime face a prison sentence of 10 to 20 years in New Jersey State Prison.
Prosecutor Sutherland emphasized the commitment of his office to aggressively target individuals involved in the distribution of illegal narcotics and the unlawful possession of fi****ms. “We will continue to collaborate closely with our federal, state, and local law enforcement partners to combat the spread of dangerous drugs and protect our communities,” said Prosecutor Sutherland.
