Six months ago, we opened the doors to our virtual production studio, and since then, a range of feature films, commercials and even TV shows have been shot here, each one proving how professional-grade technology makes a real difference on set. Until now, we haven’t shared much about the technical details. But with our studio’s half-year milestone, it’s the perfect time to show what ARRI accreditation really means in practice — through a short BTS video.

We wrapped the final chapter of Two Minutes to Midnight with a press event and two full days of virtual production at our studio.

Produced by , this Hungarian–American sci-fi feature starring brings layered timelines, surreal landscapes, and retro-futuristic moods to life — all rendered in real time inside our LED volume.
From the Mojave Desert to 1960s Los Angeles to the twisted logic of Remedyville, the camera rolled while the world bent around it.

You’ve seen it in epic sci-fi films and big studio dramas, but the same technology can unlock speed, flexibility, and bold visuals for a wide range of formats.

Whether it’s high fashion, a stylized performance piece, or a fast-paced automotive scene — like the one we shot in our studio with Aston Martin Budapest and their new DB12s — VP makes it all possible in one controlled space. We recreated a full-speed ride along the LA coastline using camera tracking technology, complete with palm-lined boulevards and the thrill of a California coastline cruise. ☀️🌴

Today we hosted the press event for Two Minutes to Midnight, a time-bending Hungarian–American sci-fi feature produced by Cinelabyrinth and starring Jim Hanks.

For two days, our LED volume transformed into the Mojave Desert, 1960s Los Angeles and Remedyville — the key locations shaping the film’s surreal world.
Each scene was created inside real-time, reactive environments, designed to support a story where memory distorts, timelines collapse, and nothing moves in a straight line.

The cast and creative team shared behind-the-scenes insights into the making of the film and offered a closer look at how our studio supports today’s most ambitious visual storytelling.

is not just a tense Netflix thriller, it’s a carefully constructed case study in virtual production. 🎬

Based on a real-life hostage situation from 2022, the film recreates Amsterdam’s Leidseplein square, the Apple Store interior, and its surrounding city environment not on location, but entirely inside a real-time LED volume. The viewer never sets foot in Amsterdam, and yet it feels undeniably real. That’s where it gets interesting from a VP standpoint.

The filmmakers didn’t just use technology. They modeled authenticity. Live reflections, camera-synced backgrounds, dynamic light response, and real-time urban activity — all designed to make the virtual space reflect reality, not stylize it.

We had the chance to attend this year’s Marché du Film - Festival de Cannes, where virtual production received unprecedented attention, including a dedicated Village Innovation section for cutting-edge technologies and immersive storytelling. One standout session was the iHostage panel with Bobby Boermans, Robert Okker, and Nils Pauwels, which explored the creative tension between realism and reconstruction in both dramatic and documentary formats. We were in the audience, and we couldn’t agree more:
The challenge today isn’t using the technology. It’s deciding what to do with realism now that we can create it. 🎥
