Charlie Sedaka on WZBC The Webpage of the Charlie Sedaka Radio Shows, late on Saturday night on WZBC Newton, USA, 90.3 FM

The show is here to promote interesting music, and we are always looking for new music that deserves to be played on the radio. We love music old and new that is not getting heard on any other radio station - We will play it!!

The Sedaka show has been abandoned for the forseeable future due to tech difficulties.

From 6 AM to 8 AM, on Monday 8th November, you can hear my show. Expect my usual mix of rock and other sorts of music. It's all about the music, folks, not about imposing one's personality on somebody....Listen Up!

If only I had a show, I might play new music from the recent CD's I have acquired by Bright Eyes, Waxahatchee, Soccer Mommy, Anthony And The Johnsons, Steampacket, Mike Polizze, oh, the list goes on and on.

I hope the Charlie Sedaka show may return soon. I have no idea if it will, frankly, and I have other issues to deal with. Here's hoping, anyway.

This is why I hate rock "journalism".........."Elvis Presley was known as “The King,” and he was certainly the king of performing. Starting with his first Memphis show in 1954, he toured constantly, entertaining millions of people all over the world." That's a quote from a blog about the greatest Live performers of all time, supposedly.

Factcheck: Presley notoriously hated flying and made no world tours. If you wanted to see him, you;'d have to fly to the US, to Vegas or Memphis probably. The whole blog is filled with many inaccuracies, as so many are. Amateurs.

New Laptop so time to re-build my iTunes library, even if I can't work out how to get the iTunes icon on the desktop!!! First discs uploaded today were new acquisitions from Youssou N'Dour, Salif Keita and Julian Cope, all of which were purchased today. Gotta keep the music fresh in my iTunes, even though I have no radio show again this Saturday. I hope to be back on air on Saturday 8/22/20, all being well.

Fortunately, I was able to brave the heat (currently 86 degrees but expected to rise another five or six) to get down to the local charity store and get a Jo Jo Gunne record. Pucka!!

My next show on WZBC , this Saturday from 10 PM till midnight as usual, will feature, among other music, some Japanese minimal, ambient and avant-garde artists.

Up in Maine today, getting music for my next few WZBC shows, of course! Picked up some stuff which I hope folks might find interesting from Dr Dog, The Hives, Sparta, Green Apple Quick Step and others too numerous to mention. I queued for 10 mins to get into a record store in 95-degree heat, I will have you know.

The Spiral Starecase was an American pop band, best known for their 1969 single "More Today Than Yesterday".

The band, from Sacramento, California, United States, was recognizable for its horns and lead singer/guitarist Pat Upton's voice. The group also included Harvey Kaye (organ), Dick Lopes (saxophone), Bobby Raymond (bass guitar), Gene Austin (bass guitar), Vinny Parello (drums), Mark Barrett (drums) and Al Sebay (electric guitar).

Starting as the Fydallions, they released that song, one album, and a few more singles including "No One for Me to Turn To" after signing with Columbia.

The band had hits with "More Today Than Yesterday", released in January 1969, and the follow-up "She's Ready". "More Today Than Yesterday" has been covered by, among others, Sonny and Cher, Diana Ross, and Goldfinger, and was featured in the 1991 film My Girl, on the soundtrack of The Waterboy in 1998, and in an episode of Ally McBeal entitled Silver Bells. I mention this because it may feature in my next show, one never knows......
