Angels in Exile Records are saddened to hear of the passing of Andy Fisher (Born Andrew James Fisher, August 27th, 1964, Rochford, Essex - August 24th, 2025 Fort Valley, Virginia,), best known as Bassist and Backing Vocalist of The Kronstadt Uprising in 1981 - 1984. With the band, he undertook many recordings and gigs, including the recording of their first demo which included 'Receiver Deceiver' which appeared on a Crass Records compilation in 1982, and the seminal 'Unknown Revolution' EP which appeared on Spiderleg Records in 1983.

Andy was a really solid Bassist and combined with Steve's powerful Drumming they provided a dynamic rhythm section which enabled the KU to really push forward and explore different musical territories. A lot of his work with the band can be heard on the Overground Records release 'Insurrection' which came out on CD in 2000, and on Vinyl LP in 2023.

After the Kronstadt, Andy joined Anorexic Dread in late 1984 and played guitar in them for a while, supporting Killing Joke at The Queens and recoding a demo with them. After the band spilt in 1985, Andy spent time roadying for The Cure, as well as undertaking long periods of travel around the world.

Andy also joined the Military in the Royal Corps of Transport, earning the rank of Lance Corporal. After earning his Degree in Arboriculture from Writtle University College, Andy eventually settled in America and continued his love of serious hiking, completing the 2,197-mile hike of the Appalachian Trail, the 2,653-mile Pacific Crest Trail and many more around the world.

He married the love of his life Kimberley Hager, and leaves his sister, Marilyn Spearman, son Jacob, (Vytaute), and two granddaughters, Aila and Ona, and many family and friends from all walks of life around the world.

R.I.P Andy

Angels in Exile records are saddened to hear of the passing of John Esplen, Owner of Overground Records and Wipe Out Music Publishing. John was a true gentleman, and had a deep love of music, especially Punk, and released both new and reissued material on his Label over the years. In 2000 he issued the Kronstadt Uprising CD, 'Insurrection', which was the first time their songs and recordings had been made available for many years. The last release on his Label was the vinyl version of this album on LP.

John released many bands on his Label, and his Anarcho Punk compilation albums were especially notable, these included 'Anti-War' (Vol #1) which featured The Kronstadt Uprising song 'Blind People', and 'Anti-State' (Vol #2) which Featured The Sinyx song 'The Plague'.

Great to read this review of The Vampire Junkies Featuring Texas Terri EP on Angels in Exile Records by Lee Cotterell in Issue 12 of Vive Le Rock magazine again. Lee nailed it when he said:

"...The end result of this collaboration is an all-out blitzkreig of punk rock 'n' roll, evoking the best bits of the New York Dolls, the Dead Boys, the Ramones and The Runaways..."

All of the known reviews of the EP can be found at the link below, although some sites may be offline now:
