𝗕𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗔 | 𝗛𝘂𝘀𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝘂𝗻𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗻𝗴 𝗨𝗘 𝗝𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗼𝘀, 𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘀 𝘀𝗮 𝗗𝗦𝗣𝗖 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

Muling pinatunayan ng Junior Dawn, ang opisyal na pahayagang pangkampus ng University of the East – Caloocan (UE-Cal) ang husay nito sa pangkampus na pamamahayag matapos magwagi ang dalawa nitong kinatawan sa ginanap na Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC) 2026 noong ika-7 ng Setyembre, taong 2026.

Sina Aneeka Chloie Mangiliman at Florenz Eugenio ang naging pambato ng pamantasan na matagumpay na nakapasok sa top placers sa kani-kanilang kategorya sa ilalim ng gabay ng kanilang tagapagsanay na si Mr. Marc Simon Recto.

Nakamit ni Mangiliman ng VAS 12-ARTIST ang ikalawang gantimpala sa Editorial Cartooning. Si Mangiliman ang lalaban para sa Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC). “Masaya ako at pakiramdam ko ay nakilala ang talento at sipag na ibinigay ko,” pahayag ni Mangiliman. “Manalo man o matalo, stand tall and remain proud. The contest does not dictate your worth as a journalist.” Dagdag pa niya para sa mga kapwa campus journalist.

Nasungkit naman ni Eugenio ng STEM 12-CALVIN ang ikasiyam na gantimpala sa Pagsulat ng Artikulong Pang-Agham. Ani niya, “Masaya at gulat ang naramdaman ko dahil hindi ko inaasahang mananalo sa una at huli kong DSPC.” Ibinahagi rin niya na malaki ang naging tulong ng mga pagsasanay kasama si Sir Recto at kapwa delegates. Binigyang-diin pa niya na “Walang karangalang susukat sa husay ng paglilingkod. Sa mga sumali at sasali pa, patuloy na magsulat, magbalita, magtanong, at makialam. Dahil hindi medalya kundi ang pagiging mamamahayag ang tunay na karangalan."

Bukod sa dalawang nagwagi, buong-puso ring nakilahok ang iba pang mahuhusay na kinatawan ng Junior Dawn sa iba't ibang larangan ng pamamahayag sa Ingles at Filipino.

Sa kategoryang Ingles, ipinamalas nina Elianna Denisse Lucas (News Writing), Aryanalei Francia (Editorial Writing), Phoemela Riel Secreto (Feature Writing), Maria Georgina Pobre (Sports Writing), Micko Jello Lontok (Column Writing), Seth Jayniel Javier (Science and Technology Writing), at Aldara Yaj Tabirara (Copyreading and Headline Writing) ang kanilang galing sa pagsulat.

Sa kategoryang Filipino naman, buong-husay na sumabak sina Stephanie Louise Seraspi (Pagsulat ng Balita), Juan Paolo Pring (Pagsulat ng Editoryal), Channelle Kirsten Castro (Pagsulat ng Lathalain), Czyrhine Jhade Salceda (Pagsulat ng Kolum), Lyka Froyalde (Pagwawasto at Pag-uulo ng Balita), Abisha Cire Flordeliza (Pagguhit ng Kartung Editoryal), at Kristel Joy Delos Reyes (Pagkuha ng Larawang Pampahayagan).

Patuloy na sinasanay ng mga mandirigmang mag-aaral ang kani-kanilang kadalubhasan sa dyornalismo, at dedikasyon sa pagpapalaganap ng katotohanan. Ang tagumpay ng Junior Dawn sa DSPC 2026 ay isang patunay ng husay at dedikasyon ng mga mag-aaral ng UE Caloocan.

This 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗦𝘂𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵, let's take a moment to remind everyone that kindness, compassion, and understanding can make a meaningful difference. Behind every smile is a story we may not always see, which is why a simple "𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂?" can open the door to meaningful support. Sometimes, simply checking in, listening without judgement, or letting someone know that they are valued can bring comfort during difficult times.

𝗨𝗘 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗻 — Hindi nagpahuli sa pagpapahalaga sa wikang Filipino ang mga mag-aaral mula Baitang 9 hanggang 10 sa pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa 2026, na idinaos noong Setyembre 7 sa LCT Multi-Purpose Hall (MPH).

Sa temang “Wikang Filipino at AI: Kasangkapan sa Pananaliksik at Tulay sa Yaman ng Impormasyon,” isinagawa ang iba’t ibang patimpalak na nagbigay-daan sa mga mag-aaral na maipamalas ang kanilang husay sa panitikan, pagtatalumpati, paggawa ng patalastas, pagtatanghal, at dokumentaryong pelikula.

Kasabay ng pagdiriwang ang pampinid na palatuntunan ng Buwan ng Wika, Kalusugan, at Kasaysayan 2026 na ginanap noong Setyembre 4, 2026.

Isinagawa ang pagbibigay-parangal mula 1:00 hanggang 4:00 ng hapon. Kabilang sa mga tampok dito ang pagbasa ng mga mekaniks para sa Tanghal-Panitikan 2026 at SineLangan, gayundin ang presentasyon ng Documentary Films ng Baitang 10.

Sa Tanghal-Panitikan 2026, na may temang “Panitikan ng Kasarinlan, Buhay sa Kasalukuyan,” nagkamit ng unang puwesto ang 9-Dmitri, habang pumangalawa ang 9-Poseidon, at pumangatlo ang 9-Athena.

Ipinamalas naman ng Baitang 10 ang kanilang kakayahan sa dokumentaryong pelikula sa ilalim ng temang “THEN. NOW. WOW!” na tumatalakay sa mga usaping may kaugnayan sa wika, teknolohiya, kasaysayan, sapat na nutrisyon, at malusog na kapaligiran.

Sa SineLangan: Documentary Film, nagkamit ng unang gantimpala ang 10-Maxwell, sinundan ng 10-Bandura sa ikalawang puwesto, at 10-Piaget sa ikatlong puwesto.

Bukod sa mga patimpalak, tampok din sa ikalawang sesyon ang pampasiglang bilang nina Hannie Margaret Juachon ng 9-Artemis at Kathryn Gale Rocha ng 9-Athena.

Bilang bahagi ng kulminasyon ng programa, isinagawa ang pagkilala at paggawad ng mga parangal sa mga nagwagi sa iba’t ibang patimpalak.

Kasama rin dito ang pagkilala sa mga nagwagi sa APex Quiz Bee 2026 at paggawad ng mga sertipiko ng parangal at espesyal na pagkilala. Pinangunahan ni G. Marc Simon S. Recto ang paggawad ng mga parangal sa mga mag-aaral.

Naging tagapagdaloy ng unang sesyon sina Rosh Cassandra Cañeza ng 9-Athena at Gevince Drayke Remandaban ng 9-Poseidon. Para naman sa ikalawang sesyon, naging tagapagdaloy sina Lhiana Nishikawa ng 9-Athena at Sean Salud ng 10-Pavlov.

Para naman sa pangwakas na pananalita, pinangunahan ito ni Gng. Victoria E. Gaño, Pangalawang Punong-Guro, bago nagtapos ang bawat sesyon sa pag-awit ng UE Hymn.

Sa Baitang 7, itinampok ang “Museo ng Wikang Filipino: Lakbay Panitikan, Buhay na Pamana,” na nagbigay-pokus sa yaman at kahalagahan ng panitikang Filipino. Nanguna ang 7-Aquino, sinundan ng 7-Abueva sa ikalawang puwesto, at 7-Molina sa ikatlong puwesto.

Sa patimpalak na Talumpati, nagwagi ang 8-Galileo bilang unang gantimpala, habang ikalawa ang 8-Antares at ikatlo ang 8-Polaris.

Sa paligsahang Print Ad, nanguna ang 8-Sirius, na pinangalawahan ng 8-Pollux at pinangatluhan ng 8-Galileo.

Samantala, naging tampok sa Baitang 8 ang “Mahal Kong Pilipinas — Paggawa ng Print at Video Ads.” Nagkamit ng unang gantimpala ang 8-Pollux, habang ikalawa ang 8-Capella at ikatlo naman ang 8-Polaris.

World Contraception Day is celebrated every September 26th to spread awareness about contraception—the deliberate prevention of pregnancy—and reproductive health. It highlights the importance of being accurately and properly informed about s*xual health, respecting one’s body and self, and safe universal access to contraceptive methods and treatment.

S*xual health and education is an often overlooked topic, especially here in the Philippines. Despite people’s attitude towards it, it remains more important than ever. S*xual health and education isn’t just about avoiding s*xually transmitted diseases and infections—above all, it’s about knowing how to take care of oneself during s*xual experiences.

S*x is and should be viewed as a core part of life, just like a person’s physical health and well-being. It shouldn’t be seen as disgusting, inappropriate, or even outright disregarded. S*xual health is fundamental to the overall state of people. That’s why it’s important to be knowledgeable about s*x, as it leads to healthy s*xual relations and experiences, all while being able to ensure that you and your partner/s have mutual consent and understanding, and that your own body remains safe.

Due to the largely lacking implementation of s*xual health education worldwide, many teenagers and young adults have wrong notions about many aspects of s*x simply because they don’t know any better and have no way of learning otherwise. To help combat this potentially harmful spread of misinformation, below are several misconceptions that people should be informed about:

“𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗺𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗲𝘅, 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝘀 𝗢𝗿𝗮𝗹, 𝗔𝗻𝗮𝗹, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗡𝗼𝗻-𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲, 𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝘆”

According to the National Library of Medicine, this misconception is considered the most common. Excluding medical procedures and transfers, only the pe*******on of the p***s into the va**na can cause pregnancy. Since the mouth, a**s, and other parts of the body aren’t connected to the reproductive systems, these forms of s*x cannot lead to pregnancy.

Safe s*x encompasses the prevention of S*xually Transmitted Infections (STIs), avoidance of unintended pregnancies, and healthy, proper practices during s*x. Condoms may protect you against fluid-transmitted infections, but skin-to-skin contact infections can still affect one’s body. Safe s*x involves making an intentional effort to prevent unwanted pregnancies and the spread of STIs both in penetrative and non-penetrative s*x.

STIs can be passed on to s*xual partners, even when one is unaware that they currently have a disease. That’s why it’s very important to have regular STI screenings or testing if you're s*xually active.

This practice is done by pulling out the p***s out of the va**na shortly before ej*******on while having unsafe penetrative s*x without a condom. While the method can reduce potential chances of pregnancy, it is absolutely not a reliable way of outright preventing it. Moreover, the p***s releases pre-ejaculate or pre-cum during s*x way before ej*******on is close to occurring, and it’s possible for s***m to be present inside it.

Myths about contraceptives and s*xual health have been passed down through generations. By utilizing the resources we have today, we can also educate ourselves and others about s*xual health. On World Contraception Day, let’s recognize that s*xual health is just as important as any other aspect of our well-being.
