Shining Bright: UE Caloocan Celebrates Junior High Achievers

The Junior High School Recognition occurred on May 28, 2025, in Multipurpose Hall 3, LCT Building, with the theme “Generating of Unity: Partners for the New Philippines," which celebrates the academic excellence of the warriors.

The ceremony started with the processional of the awardees and their parents, the UE Junior High School faculty, and the administrators. Subsequently, the attendees listened to the invocation of one of the awardees, Ms. Ayesha Errin J. Besana of 9-Dmitri, and the welcoming remarks of the Basic Education Principal, Professor Marilou S. Alonzo.

Furthermore, UE Caloocan-CAS Dean Michelle H. Concepcion gave an inspirational message before the ceremony's highlight began: awarding the achievers. UE-Caloocan Chancellor Victor R. Macam Jr., CAS Dean Michelle H. Concepcion, Basic Education Principal Marilou S. Alonzo, and Assistant Principal Victoria E. Gano gave the awardees their medals and certificates. Alongside the UE officials, the awardees were with their proud parents, who gave the medals to their children.

Later in the ceremony, a video presentation of the Junior High Students’ important events throughout the school year was shown. The ceremony ended with the singing of the university hymn and the recessional of the event attendees.

The awardees, wearing medals around their necks and carrying pride in their hearts, marched out, ready to face the challenges of the next school year as shining symbols of excellence and determination.

The Elementary Recognition Ceremony was held on May 28, 2025, at Multipurpose Hall 3, LCT Building. This ceremony recognized the Little Warriors' hard work to achieve academic excellence in the school year 2024-2025.

The event started in the morning with the processional of the awardees, their parents, and the UE officials. Thereafter, the awardees keenly listened to the heartfelt and encouraging welcome remarks of the Basic Education Principal, Prof. Marilou S. Alonzo, and the inspirational message by the College of Arts and Sciences Dean, Dr. Michelle H. Concepcion.

The heart of the event, the awarding, started at the primary level, with Ms. Myrna Sierra calling Grades 1 through 3 awardees. Next, Ms. Marville Bernal presented the awardees from the intermediate department, composed of Grades 4 to 5. The certificate and medal were given by the University President Zosimo M. Battad, UE Caloocan Chancellor Victor R. Macam Jr., CAS Dean Michelle H. Concepcion, BED Principal Marilou S. Alonzo, and Assistant Principal Victoria E. Gaño.

MANILA — Grade 12 senior high school students marked the end of their academic year with a magical and memorable Graduation Ball held on May 15, 2025 (Thursday) at the Fiesta Pavilion of The Manila Hotel, from 4:00 to 10:00 PM.

The event, themed “A Night of Mystery and Magic,” served as a grand celebration for grad-waiting students who have completed their academic requirements and are now preparing for their formal graduation rites this July.

The evening was filled with music, memories, and magic. Students enjoyed capturing moments at three interactive photo booths—mirror, magazine cover, and 360-degree video—which added a fun and glamorous touch to the venue. As keepsakes, guests received elegant wallets and perfumes that reflected the sophistication of the event.

Key university officials graced the celebration, including University Chancellor Dr. Victor R. Macam Jr., College of Arts and Sciences Associate Dean Rhinalou C. Salamat, and Basic Education Department Principal Marilou S. Alonzo, who each delivered heartfelt congratulations and encouragement to the soon-to-be graduates.

Before the ceremonial toast, student representatives from each strand took the stage to express gratitude on behalf of their classmates. Delivering short but heartfelt messages were Ann Princess M. Magdugo (HE), Jhon Rex Malones (STEM), Wingard D. Tan (HUMSS), Micah Eve Beltran (VAS), Ma. Elaine Alyanna D. Bautista (ICT), and Jhamila Gwyneth V. Belina (ABM). Their messages concentrated on their inspiring mentors, supportive friends, unforgettable memories, and the values learned throughout senior high school.

𝑇ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑚𝑜𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡 𝑓𝑒𝑙𝑡 𝑙𝑖𝑘𝑒 𝑎 𝑣𝑖𝑐𝑡𝑜𝑟𝑦,” shared Jhamila Gwyneth V. Belina, ABM strand representative.

A live band performance from members of the UE Jam Sessions elevated the night’s atmosphere. Performing on stage were Michan Jace A. Pagaduan (STEM 12 – Ampere) and Elijah Iano F. Maglalang (STEM 12 – Gold) on rhythm and lead guitar, Don Gabriel A. Graza (STEM 12 – Ampere) on bass, Gentle Isaac G. Belleza (VAS 12 – Artist) on drums, and Jan Julliene S. Victoria (VAS 12 – Expert) on vocals. Their energy and talent kept the audience entertained throughout the evening.

A highlight of the night was awarding students who stood out in various categories. Princess M. Guevarra from the ABM strand and Gerald Andrei D. Quinto from STEM were named Best Dressed for their elegance and poise. The Best Mask award was given to Reine Gerard Moreno of ICT and Francine Mae S. Bendol of STEM for their creative and stylish accessories that embodied the theme. Wingard D. Tan from HUMSS and Mervil Enjho R. Dorado from ABM were recognized as the Life of the Party, who brought joy, energy, and excitement to the dance floor.

The event concluded with hugs, laughter, and heartfelt goodbyes as students reflected on their journey and looked ahead to the new chapter awaiting them in college and beyond.

Art and Music Intertwine in Grade 12 VAS Students’ ‘Art Beat’ Exhibit

Grade 12 VAS students, alongside Ma’am Lacay, showcased an exhibit entitled Art Beat: A Playlist of Resonant Narratives. This exhibit explores the application of art in interpreting music, specifically Original Pinoy Music, in relation to the artist’s personal experience.

The students presented their 69 artworks following an introductory program at the Chua King Ha Gallery hosted by Maichail Adrian Flores and Frances Kenshee Torres. Jan Jullienne Victoria and Dharica Silva performed jointly. Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Ms. Silva and Mr. Flores guided the attendees, and a short performance preceded the Mezzanine.

Upon entering the vicinity, the guests were greeted by an all OPM jamming session, with songs performed by multiple Filipino artists related to the artworks done by the VAS students.

A song and an artwork were dedicated to the Principal of the Basic Educational Department, Ms. Marilou Alonzo. To the surprise of the performer, Mr. Flores, Ms. Alonzo joined the singer in an impromptu duet of The Journey by Lea Salonga.

The event was concluded with a photo op of all of the Grade 12 VAS students and their teachers.

⭐️Daily Motivational Quotes⭐️

“Success is not final, failure is not fatal; It is the courage to continue that counts.”
— Winston Churchill

Although many people believe Churchill said this phrase, there is no concrete evidence that he did. However, the concept aligns with his leadership style, particularly during World War II, when he was renowned for his powerful speeches that inspired people to persevere through difficult circumstances. Churchill experienced numerous setbacks in the military and politics throughout his life. He was even expelled from politics at one point. He didn't give up, though. When Britain most needed a strong leader, he returned and emerged victorious.

This quotation reminds us that having the guts to keep going is more important than winning or losing.
