Meet the team 👋
Amber Lynn Esparza is a senior communications student minoring in women’s and gender studies at Texas A&M University-San Antonio. Amber has been an editor for The Mesquite, A&M-San Antonio’s online student news publication, since she transferred from Palo Alto College in spring 2021, taking on various positions like multimedia editor, photo editor, copy editor and managing editor. Most of her time at school consists of writing, editing and taking photos. She also hosts a semi-weekly radio show for A&M-San Antonio’s Enlace Radio called “Varieties from the Vault.” One of Amber’s college goals was to experience working for El Espejo before graduating (and she did!). Outside of school, she is also a freelance contributing writer and photographer for the San Antonio Current. Amber is a creative at heart, always searching for new creative projects to bring to life and looking to collaborate with others. In her free time, Amber enjoys thrift shopping, doing deep dives on the music she’s listening to and watching movies, TV and YouTube. After graduating, Amber hopes to build a career that can incorporate all of her passions for media and entertainment.
