This tech talk is packed with content and good ideas! You'll definitely want to stick around for Dave Mackey's discussion Why You Can't Find a Job: Lessons from the Life of Charles Babbage. 💡💡Charles Babbage is widely known as the inventor of the first computer in the early 1800's. What can we learn from Babbage about the job hunt today?

Dave is officially a Storage Systems Engineer at Piedmont but views himself as a comprehensive datacenter engineer. At University Hospital, he managed servers, storage, VMware, AIX & Linux systems, backups, and some networking.

Wondering what it's like getting into tech? Join us at August's Tech Talk as Alex Nichols and Dave Mackey chat on what it's like to be entering coding/tech these days and ways in which the community can support folks entering the profession.

Alex is a lifelong learner and loves curiosity. She recently became interested in tech and has discovered elements of tech she likes and doesn’t like. She’s still figuring it out but is excited about the journey! 😄 😄

Keisha is Founder and CEO of KLQ Learning Solutions which provides IT/Cybersecurity training and support. She has extensive experience including 8 years as an instructor at Augusta Technical College.

Jason started using computers in the early 80s as a kid, started tinkering and learning and eventually built them and started self-hosting in the 90s.

Sergio is a data scientist who specializes in turning fragmented business data into clear, actionable insights. With a background in multifamily industry analytics, and military, he is a PhD candidate researching business intelligence, he combines expertise in Python, Flask, and Plotly Dash to build intuitive, dashboards for small and growing businesses. As the author of the “Nerd Data Dairy” blogs—publishing tutorials and case studies in Portuguese—and the creator of a beginner-friendly YouTube channel on data science. Passionate about helping small companies to integrate the data they are already collecting and empower teams to make data-driven decisions that fuel sustainable growth.
