Heist Recordings was founded by Dam Swindle as a means to gain full control over their own releases, and to create a stage for likeminded musicians to showcase their music. From the first release on, Detroit Swindle’s “Break up to make up” EP in summer 2013, Heist has been a go to label for proper underground house and electronic music. Now, 20 releases and 3 compilations in, Heist has brought for

ward artists like Max Graef, Frits Wentink, Nebraska, Adesse Versions, Fouk, Brame & Hamo, Nachtbraker and Andy Hart and continues to search for new talent, with Lars & Maarten fully focused on the A&R side of the label. Up till 2016, remixes on the label have been solely done by other original Heist artists on the yearly “Round up EP”, where the remixer and remixee get connected by the luck of the draw and a limited edition double pack is put out. After that, Maarten and Lars decided it was time to add remixers to the EP’s as well, which saw interesting collaboration, expanded the label family with names like Matthew Herbert, Tom Noble, Ge-ology and Byron the Aquarius.

2017 will show a whole batch of new artists like the amazing afro oriented Swiss group Alma Negra, Italian producer Parker Madicine on a Detroit trip, as well as new releases from label residents like Nachtbraker, Fouk and Detroit Swindle themselves.

A very special mix is now live by Fouk!🚨

“When Heist asked us to create a special mix featuring our favourite tracks and some personal milestones on the label, we knew it would be a nostalgic trip. We’ve been releasing on Heist since the Kill Frenzy EP in 2015 and that’s already 11 years ago! It’s an honour to mix this retrospective.
Browsing through the catalogue, we rediscovered our love for all the older tracks: ‘Ooh yes, remember this one?’ Paired with some of the more recent gems, it put a huge smile on our faces!” ❤️

This Friday is release day! 🎶 Storm Mollison’s A.L.T. EP will drop and we’re beyond excited for this one🔥🔥

EP opener ‘Doing Sumthin’ has been a staple in Dam Swindle’s sets ever since receiving Storm’s first demo and has never failed to make the crowd bounce!

‘Act Like That’ - the EP’s title track -, is a modern R’ n B song that could have easily been on Rochelle Jordan’s latest album. The lyrics are perfectly delivered by Storm herself and celebrate women who stand up to unreliable men.

On the flipside is ‘Gotta Go’, an undercover dancefloor burner with lush keys and a lean-back
groove. The track relies on crisp textures and little frizzles all throughout the track, with a big
breakdown for ultimate release.

EP closer ‘Workin’ takes us back into R ‘n B territory, this time in a very danceable form. Storm’s soft vocals lie on top of a steady beat with deep chords and a bassline so sexy It’ll make you get down no matter where you’re hearing this.
