It's not an exaggeration to say that the 'Theme' and 'The Plot' are two of the greatest ever pieces of music composed, in my opinion. Music like this sourced from Hairy Records and more, that made me who I am in this respect.

The man is as big as legend as there is, but his array of film scores? Dirty Harry. Bullitt. Cool Hand Luke. Enter The Dragon. There are dozens of scores in film and TV. But the Mission Impossible film run, with 8 folk having their own run at his music. Stunning. I stayed in an IMAX on my own to listen to new composers variations on his music one final time last Sunday. It has always, always meant the world to me.

His influence in that respect may never be matched. There are a few composers, Williams, Horner, Goldsmith. People struggle with following or interpreting their music.

But this man. My god. It's not far off to say every week or so I listen to music adapted by others from him, but yours was unmatched from the start. Your mission is ended, sir. Legend.

One of the really lovely benefits of not doing fairs on , as we have our lovely permanent store in , is that we get to actually go to Record Store Day.

Off food shopping, and before ya know it, I've been racking up the buys in and

Everyone was glorious today. Brilliant. And my son got his first ever record from the Jac!

Started first at the lovely 81 Renshaw Street, a huge selection led to buying a brilliant unexpected treble Potter soundtrack and Isobel Campbell and Mark Lanegan.

Followed by a visit to the truly awesome Jacaranda Records , one of my fave places with proper boss staff for a fine double of Bluey and another Potter record to finish today's set. I shall have to return for that Stone Temple Pilots live album.

Finished with a quick pitstop at Rough Trade Liverpool for two utter bangers of RATM and Sugababes......

A very Happy Record Store Day to everyone and the amazing folk running all the independent stores around Liverpool today who have been working their socks off since dawn. I might even manage to get my hands on the Carol Douglas Disco album and Airplane soundtrack later on.

Mind you, records are not just for Record Store Day! We're here the other 364 days with tons of new stock put out this morning.

And as always, there's a ridiculous amount of cool stores and sellers in Red Brick this weekend.

Also, that rather big Boxpark opened last night just round the corner. Looks swish.
