I have neglected this Facebook space all summer, just too goddam busy writing and publishing books! I have turned myself into a mini-publishing house, staffing all departments bar Design & Illustration (thank God, I have brilliant talents to do that!)
When working with traditional publishers, I just emerge from my shed with a manuscript and hand it in like prep, and they take care of all the production (and some of the marketing). Launching my Indie Publishing business has been a ton of work, learning on the hoof, putting the theory I studied out there into the marketplace. I have just about mastered it and now plan to spend a little more time promoting what I produce and posting about writing and publishing in general.
I will be be pushing my books here but I'm more excited about giving an insight, or glimpses, into being an author and into the world of publishing. It gets lonely in my cold shed so it will be fun to engage. A recurring theme will be showing that full-time writers, fighting with millions over a small pot of gold, don't spend their days lying around in silk dressing gowns, smoking cigarillos and lacquering their hair with coconut pomade.
This third Badger book, the last of the series for this year, is the longest, almost double the pages of Badger Cricket and Golf. If it turns out to be the funniest that will be less to do with me, and more to do with the rich humour to be found on the terraces and British football culture.
