CHIEF MICHAEL OROBOSA, FRANCIS BUNU HONOURED AT THE 2024 SILC AWARDS

It is no longer news that Success In Leadership Conference & Awards held the 2024 edition of it's award in Lagos.
The awards ceremony was held on saturday 27th July 2024 at the Festival hotel in Festac was a grand one as it was massively attended by the creme de la creme of the society, many of whom are guests of the awardees. They came around to participate in the glamorous award ceremony.
Managing Director, Micura Services Limited, High Chief Michael Orobosa Ubogu and the Deputy President General, Maritime Workers' Union of Nigeria (MWUN), Comrade Francis Abi Bunu were some of the notable personalities that swept the prestigious awards at the 2024 Success In Leadership Conference and Awards (SILC).
The maritime personalities were recognized for their immense contributions to humanity and philanthropical gestures .
The Micura boss won the award as "Grand Patron" of SILC 2024 while the Deputy President General of MWUN got the Maritime Icon Of The Year Award.
Francis Bunu dedicated his award to seafarers' commended the Presidents General of MWUN,Comrade Adewale Adeyanju for the pathway of empowering Nigerian seamen.
SILC reveals the long list of personalities that won the awards - Hon. Sabur Akanbi Oluwa, Honourable Member, Lagos State House of Assembly representing Ajeromi-Ifelodun Constituency 02, and member House Committee on Energy and Mineral, and Maliki Bawa Rilwanu, Chief Superintendent of Police Lagos .
Others are - Chief Tunde Alapini, Executive Director, Logistics & Distribution,Micura Services Limited,Hon. Kehinde Arogundade, 5th& 6th Leader of the House, Ajeromi-Ifelodun, Local Government Area of Lagos State and Assistant Controller , Nigeria Customs Service Ofoegbu Ifeanyi.

LASG SET TO PARTNER ONLINE REPORTERS ASSOCIATION

The Lagos State Government has tasked Online Reporters in the State to continue to eschew high levels of professionalism while abiding by the ethos of the journalism practice, adding that these are times that call for responsible and ethical reporting.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Strategy, Mr. Olamide Sogunle gave this admonition when he hosted the leadership of the Online Reporters Association of Nigeria (ORAN) on Tuesday at the Conference Room of the Ministry as part of efforts to discuss strategic collaboration and effective communication in the digital age.

The Permanent Secretary, Mr. Olumide Sogunle, while welcoming the ORAN delegation, acknowledged the vital role online media plays in shaping public opinion and disseminating information, reaffirming ilthe Ministry’s commitment to supporting online reporters in promoting transparency and accountability in governance

The President of Online Reporters Association of Nigeria , Adegbola Shehu Tijani commended the State Government efforts, through the Ministry, in promoting press freedom and access to information, adding that the association will remain committed to responsible and ethical reporting.

The two parties’ discussions centred around enhancing the capacity of online reporters through training and addressing challenges in the field.

Both agreed to foster a collaborative relationship, leveraging new media to promote a more informed citizenry. The Ministry pledged support for training and capacity building.

The courtesy visit marked the beginning of a fruitful partnership between the Ministry and ORAN, which can potentially pave the way for a vibrant and responsible media landscape in Nigeria.
