Mark Tate aka DJ Spuddy, I hit the decks DJing around the age of 12 years old DJing on old hifi record players from Sony/Hitachi to Technics SL B2’s to SL-1500 Belt drive decks, and collected vinyl records ever since. My preferred audio taste is electronic & techno music from styles such as Hardcore (Dutch/UK), Bouncy Techno, German Trance, Happy Hardcore, Italian Dance / Makina, Gabba,and all asp

ects of Trance music. I've Been Pretty much driven by the legends of the Powerhouse venue , Colosseum and After Dark tapes in which I collected and grew up listening to.

In the year of 1999 I became in love with Trance music and bought my very first trance vinyl - system F - Out of the blue - from then on I became in love with it, my spectrum become more energetic with a hybrid fusion of progressive Trance, Hard & Banging Trance, Hardstyle and Hard House. Something about me is I am picky when it comes to a tune and only follow the sounds that pe*****te deeper than my ears. My mixing sound and mixing styles developed from practise and practise, and still to this day still developing, my dimensions and my smooth precision on mixing is coming on. My First break was spent playing clubland for many years at a major local night club & Dj'd alongside local hard-hitters and national acts alike, playing those tracks that get you tapping your feet and nodding your head without you realising it.

2020 brought colosseum reunion, reminiscing the old skool back to people’s minds, then I started up limitless - trance gathering which is going from strength to strength, 3 successful events in, we keep on keeping on.

For anyone who grew up on Happy Hardcore, Hixxy isn’t just a DJ and Producer — he’s part of the soundtrack to our youth. Finally meeting him in person felt surreal.

The best part, He signed my records.

Handing over those vinyls — records that have been spun, treasured, and probably worn at the edges from years of love — felt like handing over pieces of my own history. Watching him put pen to sleeve wasn’t just about getting an autograph. It was about honoring the moments tied to those tracks: There’s something beautifully nostalgic about keeping physical records in a digital world.

Vinyl carries weight — literally and emotionally. And now those signed records feel even more special. They’re not just part of my collection anymore; they’re reminders that the scene, the spirit, and the people behind it are still very real.

Happy Hardcore never really died — it just evolved. And meeting one of its pioneers proved that the energy, the passion, and the community are still beating strong.
Here’s to keeping the hardcore alive. 💛
