[NEWS] 06.04.2025 Actor ’s hit drama will be broadcast in Brazil for the first time.

Recently, SBT, the largest private TV network in Brazil, announced that it will air the Korean drama, My Love from the Star, on June 9 (local time) for the first time.

The drama originally aired in Korea in 2013, and now, 12 years later, it is being introduced to South America.

SBT explained that they chose to broadcast the show because “it gained international popularity and was successful in many countries.”

They added, “Korean dramas are no longer just niche content, they’ve become part of major TV programming. SBT is keeping up with trends from social media and streaming platforms to meet the needs of open TV viewers.” They also said that the demand for Korean pop culture content in Brazil is growing rapidly, and so they’ve created a special time slot called “Asian Production Line.”

My Love from the Star will be the first drama to air in this new time slot. It will be broadcast for the first time at 4:45 p.m. on June 9.

Recently, the drama has also been getting attention again in Taiwan, where the Korean Wave channel Korea Entertainment TV has decided to re-air the series.

The A-list actor secured third place in the 110th weekly Star Ranking male actor category, nabbing an impressive 11,546 votes during the polling period that ran from 3:01 PM on April 24th to 3 PM on May 1st KST.

This marks a dramatic comeback for Kim, who had previously languished in seventh place with just 540 votes in the previous week’s rankings, which saw Kim Nam Gil holding the third-place position.

Kim Soo Hyun’s surge places him in the prestigious top three alongside chart-topper Lee Junho, who dominated with 40,302 votes, and runner-up Byeon Woo Seok, who secured 24,208 votes.

The Star Ranking system allows fans to directly vote for their favorite celebrities. Celebrities who maintain the top position for four consecutive weeks are rewarded with electronic billboard advertisements.
