Injecting the aviation bug young!

When I was 5, I sat in the front seat of a Bell Jetranger and it changed my life trajectory in many ways that had nothing to do with aviation.

I'm a bit poor now after this week but worth it to give my kids a life experience.

I'm not sure they realise how special it is to be picked up at your house by helicopter, but I'm betting it will leave an imprint.

I'm tempted to quit farming and go be a pilot again (I'd earn more) but thank you to for helping me give this to my farming family!

I’m here. Still here.

I see the bu****it. I hear the noise. I feel the outrage too.

But I won’t add to the shouting. I'm watching. I'm questioning. I'm interviewing.

I'm building internally, while the outside world rusts and decays.

If you’re still with me, you know what you’re after: SIGNAL in the NOISE.

The world will always offer easy masks, cheap certainty, hollow crowds, easy dopamine. A 'team' to choose.

All noise.

But there is no substitute for what is True.

For the few, the charge is to become more human, more true, more REAL, and indivisible even as everything else fragments and embraces simulation/performance.

Most people will settle for an anesthetised existence of comfort or applause.

We're about to witness great swaths of people check IN to beautiful simulations and check OUT of reality. Humans already do this but the simulation tools are getting too addictive. Too life-like.

If, like me, you are instead intent on becoming real - choosing truth over ease - then you already know it will be a lonely path.

But I'm not sure there's another path worth walking.

A metal podcast invited me as a guest.

I knew it would be great. And it was. Because I don't like metal.

Enjoy this 3hrs of deep discussion. I loved it.

We went everywhere, from authoritarianism, to culture, to artists and their role in societal dissent, cars, ethics....

Matt Wong is the host of Discernable, Australia’s leading social and political media outlet, without comparison. It’s an absolute privilege to have Matt join the show for a discussion exploring topics such as authoritarianism, cultural narratives, and the role of artists in dissent. We also discuss the state of the church and the future of Western systems, asking whether capitalism, democracy, and liberty can endure in an era of division and control.
