The end of the cloudy and cold weather isn't far away.

Look out to our west where clear skies and warming temps are! That comes our way for Saturday and into early next week.

Tomorrow's highs will be into the low 50s and we'll be into the 70s by Monday!

Temps in the 50s early this afternoon will tank into the 40s this evening behind a round of light rain.

Temps tank even farther overnight to around 30° with snow showers overnight. Most places won't see much if any accumulation because of the warm ground. Some grassy areas may see light accumulations. Friday will feature blustery conditions with winds gusting over 30mph at times with highs in the middle 30s.

A muuuuch better weather pattern sets up for the weekend and into early next week as highs will skyrocket into the 70s by Monday.

Not the sunny start like we've had the last few days, but it will be warmer. Slight chance of rain early, with some clearing in areas into the afternoon. Highs will get back to above average - Mid 60s!

At 74°F for the 2pm observation at the Youngstown airport, today has officially become the warmest February day on record in Youngstown!

Pittsburgh's current temperature of 75°F at the same time puts it in 3rd place. If the temperature can climb above 77°F this afternoon, Pittsburgh will break the record.

By the end of the next 7-9 day stretch of well above normal temps, we will be just a day or two out of March.

Thereafter, average highs go from 40° to 52° by March 31, then jump another 12° from April 1 (avg high of 53°) to an average high of 65° by April 30.

A weak storm system will bring a threat of a few snowflakes on Thursday but don't expect much if anything in the way of accumulation (a dusting possible in the traditional snowbelt that's about it).

The warm-up continues in the 5-day forecast. For the holiday weekend, a chance of rain and snow early Saturday with a chance of rain into the early afternoon. Just a chance of a few showers on Christmas day with a much better chance later Monday though. Look at those Monday temps though! Using those gift cards and taking the unwanted gifts back will be like a spring day!

The 5-day forecast has been updated to include the entire Christmas weekend!

Winter begins Wednesday at 5:44am - but the trend is for above average temperatures well into the holiday (and beyond). A brief chance of a passing snow shower or two on Thursday with a weak system. Another storm system will begin to take shape for the weekend, but as of now it's unclear just how we'll be affected as the storm may take a little longer to head our direction. Keep checking back for updates!

Here's a look at the next 5 days across the region. A tranquil weather week compared to recent days. Looking forward to Sunday's Christmas forecast - looking soggy with temperatures in the lower 40s and off and on rain. This will continue to be fine tuned - but the overall forecast is for warmer temperatures and much less craziness!

Light to moderate snow with low visibility at times through the evening. Light accumulations (1-3"). Will be a quick hitting system but will make things slow this afternoon.

We've seen all the snow... now for the interesting part of the first major winter storm of the season. Attached is the current radar. Note the legend in the top right hand corner.

The rest of the night will feature a variety of precipitation types. Snow will continue to overspread the region once again through midnight, with a mix of rain, sleet, and freezing rain moving in from the south. Most places will see all rain as we get into the middle of the overnight hours. This will begin to melt the snow but still keep roads very dangerous, slushy, and messy.

The entire storm system will exit the region Monday morning, with just some snow flurries or light snow showers Monday afternoon. Use extra caution for your Monday morning commute!
