Looking at the Columbia Glacier from this close was captivating. We could hear crashing sounds of the glacier calving and could literally touch the icebergs which came floating to the beach.

This Ice cave was formed at the tongue of the glacier and was huge. It felt little sketchy to go inside the cave as the ice could fall, we still went inside fully aware of the risks involved. The blue color is from the light filtered through the ice and creates an amazing glow throughout the cave.

did an amazing job discovering and taking us to this cave. Do give them a look for glacier tours near Valdez.

When you stand below the Arctic circle in freezing temperatures with clear dark sky above your head and the milky way appearing tack sharp, the only thing which can top that experience is the waltz from the north. And when those majestic lights appear you pause and take notice and thank your chances to be able to witness that.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

First rays of sun hitting Mt. Rainier which adds a golden glow to the peak and the tiny summer wild flowers.

It was a full moon and a cloud free night, we camped at this trail spot with our beach chairs for a couple of hours waiting for the sunrise.

When the sun came out it lit the peak on fire and the moon which was still around added a soft glow to the foreground as well.
