I have reached 300 followers! Thank you for your continued support. I could not have done it without each of you. 🙏🏾🤗🎉🫶🏾

And to celebrate, I‘ve decided to apply for the Sephora Squad 2023! This is my 5th year applying & prayerfully my last 😭🙏🏾 I made it as a Finalist in 2021, but didn’t get chosen to be on the official squad.

Sephora selects influencers each year to represent them and work with brands. Also, I want to increase bald representation & show others that hair doesn’t define anyone. Testimonials are strongly encouraged and I would be honored if you all could write one on my behalf.

Please click the link below and tell Sephora why I should be on the squad, and what kind of impact I’ve made within the community. All it takes is 1-2 minutes of your time, it doesn’t matter how long or short the testimonials are. This will strengthen my application so much. Thank you for your time, let’s win it for the baldies 😇😘💞👩🏾‍🦲👩🏻‍🦲👩🏽‍🦲👩🏼‍🦲👩🏿‍🦲

Hey y’all! 🥰🤗💙

We’re asking community members to tell us what they’d like their friends, family, classmates, co-workers and dermatologists to know about alopecia areata. Here’s what Ebony Jean told us:

One thing about alopecia areata I wish my friends knew is: I can still live my life regardless if I have hair or not.

One thing about alopecia areata I wish my co-workers knew is: It affects a person’s social and work life.

One thing about alopecia areata I wish my classmates knew is: It is not cancerous, nor contagious.

One thing about alopecia areata I wish my dermatologist knew is: How common hair loss is within the Black community.

HAPPY ALOPECIA AWARENESS MONTH to our beautiful community! There are so many types of alopecia: Areata (patchy), Totalis (hair loss on face and scalp), Universalis (complete body hair loss), CCCA (scarring), Traction, Androgenetic, Barbae, and Telogen Effluvium. Each of us has a powerful story. Your strength, experience, advice, and gifts can help someone else! Everyday I am learning how to navigate through this journey. While educating and helping others, I am healing in the process. Hair loss is difficult, indeed, but time and time again we continue showing up and proving to others how amazing we are! Paint the town blue all month long 👩🏿‍🦲👩🏾‍🦲👩🏽‍🦲👩🏼‍🦲👩🏻‍🦲💙

Baldies, guess what?! For the FIRST TIME IN HISTORY, we have an FDA-approved treatment for Alopecia!
It’s been a long time coming 🥲
According to ,
Olumiant (baricitinib) is included in a class of medications, known as Janus Kinase Inhibitors or JAK Inhibitors.

At this time, the treatment is only approved for adults. This is just the beginning of more treatment choices for our community.

My alopecia babes…it’s been too long since I’ve made a post on this page. Very sorry for my absence. In return, I felt it was only right to discuss what happened.

It’s been one week since learning of the disparaging comments Chris Rock made of about her beautiful bald head. It was beyond disrespectful - it was inappropriate and triggering. Many memories came back of the things people said about me over the years. Memories that I didn’t want to revisit.

Regardless if he didn’t mean anything by the “joke”, it was distasteful, especially the context of it. Not everything is a compliment - Jada’s facial expressions explained everything and I know how she feels.

I do not condone violence. What happened at the Oscars was a harsh example that mean people still exist. That could’ve been a great opportunity for education.

I’ve had Alopecia Universalis since age 4; now I’m in my early 30s. As an adult I’m still healing…not just from my past, but from things happening in the present. It’s sad that people downplay this condition, as if Alopecia doesn’t affect us mentally. It may not be life threatening, but it is life altering.

Many of us with alopecia have experienced grievance, anxiety, depression, fear, isolation, embarrassment, and anger towards our hair. This affects nearly 7 million of us in the U.S.

We’re not jokes or pranks. I’m praying for Jada’s healing and strength - I’m praying for all of us.
