Internationally renowned and ranked among the world’s best-selling photographers, David Yarrow Photography has built a distinguished career capturing striking, story-driven imagery. His work is showcased in galleries around the globe, celebrated for its cinematic style, bold composition and ability to create a compelling narrative within a single frame.
His image used on the cover of our latest magazine, “The Road Goes On Forever,” was taken at Forrest Gump Point in Utah’s Monument Valley. The crew set up in the early morning hours so David could shoot the scene with the first rays of light — and because, as he notes, “Utah State Patrol would not allow you to close down that road during the middle of the day.”
Set against such an iconic backdrop, the road trip scene — complete with hippies and a VW van — evokes a sense of journey, freedom and carefree spirit.
David’s work is featured in art galleries across ski towns, including Relevant Galleries in Park City. One of his quintessential Wild West photographs featuring a wolf was shot inside the No Name Saloon in Park City — a place he considers the best mountain town bar in America.
His fascination with the American West has inspired a rich collection of images, each one layered with its own narrative. David doesn’t simply document the West — he uses his lens to craft cinematic moments that feel both timeless and charged with a sense of wonder.
“There will be photographers that use the camera to preach, to lecture, and then there will be people who use the camera to entertain and introduce levity,” David says. “And that’s much more my way. I want to remind people that it’s a beautiful world. It’s a storied world.”
