Hereโs a reality we all seem to avoid. Or, just maybe many have learned to cope with, yet theyโre torn apart on the inside.
From the first sound of the alarm in the early hours of every morning to the hustling, bustling and rushing to catch the early bus.
You look around and not many are excited about the destinations they are headed - drained, tired, and stressed in every sense of it, yet dare not stop to catch some breath.
In the word of an individual, he describes working 9-5 job as โโฆprofessionally dressed for a financial trapโฆ.โ
I agree with him. But, I disagree partly because not many could even afford to dress โprofessionallyโ.
Such was the case of Daniel. It was almost like his entire existence revolved around the credit alert that came just once in a month.
He longed for it. He made promises and had huge plans, but the moment it landed, it felt like something inside him deflated.
What he had couldnโt actually settle his basic needs. All the plans and promises he had a moment ago were nothing but pipe dreams.
So mentally and financially incapacitated was he that he couldnโt dare to think about anything outside of what his salary could afford.
No vacation.
Hanging out with family and friends seem sacrilegious.
Caught up in a web of constant request for a salary raise. The more the raise, the more he got entwined in the web.
Do I even need to talk about the fact he was just a letter or an email away from losing the job?
โWhat if something goes wrong one day?โ He asked himself. The boss may just wake up on the wrong side of the bed and suddenly realizes she needs to cut expenses.
Thatโs it!
It was certain he had been operating on borrowed self-esteem and confidence.
He knew every atom of that would evaporate if he got sacked.
Well, it happened. Few years down the line, he lost his job.
Ohโฆ The emptiness. The agony. Years of commitment in flames. He was left high and dry.
Devastated!
The former colleagues he thought couldnโt survive without him stopped reaching out.
They probably were also walking on eggshell. They didnโt know whose fate would be decided next.
He had two options in the face of the reality staring him in the face, live and in HD - firstly, to dust his CV, start searching for a new job, and risk a possible repeat of what just befell him ,or secondly, chart his own course.
Luckily for him, he went for the second option.
โI am done being a bystander in the event of my life. I want to be an active participantโ, he thought to himself.
He couldnโt afford anyone dictating the limit of his finance anymore.
However, he knew if he had to transition from the point he was to where he wanted to be, heโd have to invest in feeding his mind with new information.
He got himself some digital courses and studied them.
Daniel is a web design and digital marketing expert right now, making money in hundreds of thousands. He works from home and only goes out when heโs meeting with his clients.
He spends more time with family and friends. He can now afford a few days of vacation away from home.
Letโs be honest. Daniel isnโt making millions yet, but he has enough to live life on his own term. Heโs fully in control.
I believe you may be to relate with Danielโs situation, maybe pick one or two things from his story. Only difference is you donโt need to wait for things to fall apart before you act.
If you need 1 or more digital courses that are in high demand, and can get you started on your way to that transitioning just like Daniel, let us know. Weโd like to work and walk with you through it.
