Jake and The Town - Reachers 2, was Quietly released on Spotify and Youtube in late 2024 - and like Reachers one - The first set of songs Jake and his band came into my studio to record - It is one of the most interesting, vulnerable, and frankly, beautiful pieces of music I've had the privilege of recording.

This is a band that came in and did their thing, and I tried to hone it into what I felt the music wanted to be sonically. Jake's songwriting, in my opinion, is fantastic. The performances are raw and emotional.

Here's one of my favourite tunes from the sessions:

Since starting my basement studio in 2019, Ive had the pleasure of working with some amazing Thunder Bay artists and Im super grateful for everyone that has come through to record with me and trust me with their art, or has lended their talent to projects I have been working on.

Some pretty deadly tunes have come out of the little One Island Productions studio (small but mighty!!) And there are more on the way.

I just wanted to send out a thanks. I was thinking - why not highlight some of the Amazing artists that have come in to lay down the magic at 1IP, and a few of my tracks that Ive had some amazing artists and friends feature on:

Kyle came in to record this 6 song record and laid everything down in no more than a few takes. with most of it live off the floor. Kyle's musicianship and songwriting ability are evident in these tracks:

Rain Delay - Live off The Floor(Jamie Smith and Kyle Shushack)

Jamie and Kyle's rootsy duo came in, we threw up some nice mics, went through some nice gear and did everything live off the floor. Jamie can come into the studio whenever he wants. One of my favourite voices in Thunder Bay. Kyle's guitar playing is top notch as usual.

Gaelin Brown - Right Where you Are (Single)

Gaelin is one of my best buds and has always been one of my favourite local songwriters ever since the days of Kangoskatbot. We both like reggae, so we co-wrote and produced this track that originated from an old tune of his. Big UB40 vibes, modernized. Backup vocals from the always amazing Maria Tassone. Mixed/mastered here at 1IP.
