In response to Western North Carolina’s ongoing housing crisis after Hurricane Helene, the Grace in Action Fund is launching to provide critical rent, mortgage, and utility assistance. Join Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church and the Land of the Sky Association of Realtors on Tuesday, July 22, at 6pm at Grace Covenant (789 Merrimon Ave., Asheville) for a community event featuring local leaders and stories from families helped by the fund.

Building on the success of their first joint exhibition in 2023, artists Mark Bettis and Nabil El Jaouhari reunite for Between the Two of Us: Part II, now open at Mark Bettis Studio & Gallery in Asheville’s River Arts District. This new body of work highlights the striking interplay between Bettis’s bold, dynamic paintings and El Jaouhari’s layered collages enhanced with delicate wood burning.

Sculpture meets soil during the Enchanted Garden Art Show, a seasonal showcase at Grovewood Gallery (111 Grovewood Rd., Asheville) featuring eight regional artists whose works come alive amid garden paths and greenery. Among them is Jonathan Bowling, a Greenville, N.C.-based sculptor who welds salvaged steel into expressive animal forms.

Raised on a Kentucky farm and trained in art history and sculpture, Bowling blends pastoral memory with industrial grit. The show opens Saturday, June 14, from 2-5pm with a free public reception and continues through September 21.
