In truth, God is always close to those who genuinely seek after him. The real problem is that we drift away from him, lose interest, and leave his presence. So let's seek him and receive his grace and his help while we recognize that he alone is the one who truly saves.

"I read this recently in my quiet times and was struck by the way the Psalmist is moved with such joy that he sings to the Lord. The Psalmist didn’t even know about the salvation that God would one day bring through Jesus so funnily enough we have even more to rejoice in the Lord about than he knew! It popped up over Easter, and now while I'm in iso someone sent it to me out of the blue, and it just feels like such a reminder of God's character- he's a righteous God who cares that his people know how much he loves them.
