We've been doing some conversions from D&D to the SE:20 system and here are some interesting results. The Acolyte is effectively a level 1 spell caster compared to the level 13 caster.

Today we uploaded an updated version of Blood, Money, & Steel and is now available from our website: SunderedEpoch.org

Blood, Money, & Steel is a mercenary campaign guide for BattleTech Alpha Strike and is available from our Fan Service links or from DriveThruRPG.

In this update, we have added a simple example of a campaign "Training Day". We also added options for a Clan Campaign. Most other changes are fairly minor and are noted in the Change Log available in the Links section of the PDF.

Progress continues on God's & Men. Each major city will have a complete description including influential NPCs and rumors, landmarks and district descriptions, economics and demographics. Next is major plot points for each.

This book is a complete encyclopedia of the world and will include monsters, magic, treasure, and plots galore! It is a huge undertaking.

Happy new year!

And to celebrate, we released a major update on the SE:20 Core Rules! You can get them for free from our website, SunderedEpoch.org or from DriveThruRPG.

The SE:20 RPG System is a classless, skill based d20 RPG designed to emulate the action hero style of fiction. It uses the familiar d20 skill system and resources for other d20 systems can be easily adapted to the SE:20 system.

In this update, we’ve expanded the core rules to include a lot of optional rules. We added a choose-your-adventure style introduction to help teach you how the system works, expanded the character creation section, added new optional attributes, and reorganized a whole lot. On the combat section, we added an example of combat and a whole slew of optional combat rules. The equipment chapter got a bunch of new stuff including toxins, explosives, new and revised armor, and equipment design guidelines to help you make or convert your own.

But wait, there’s more!

Last year we made a couple of videos to introduce you to the system and character creation. Well, this year we added combat example video. All of which can be viewed from our website at SunderedEpoch.org and follow the links to the SE:20 system.

As if that wasn’t enough, we uploaded a bunch of unofficial documents to our Fan Service! page. This includes documents for BattleTech and the Alien RPG as well as conversions for the SE:20 system. Need monsters? We got you covered with our encounter cards. Need a campaign guide for BattleTech Alpha Strike? Check out Blood, Money, and Steel, our map-based campaign guide that dives deep into running a campaign from start to finish.

Don’t forget to check out our other works. Dungeon delvers may appreciate Into the Unknown, a deck based dungeon and wilderness map generator complete with treasure, monsters, and traps. The Alpha Strike Campaign Guide Version 2.27 is now out! Major changes and a new name!

Blood, Money, & Steel - A Mercenary Campaign Guide for BattleTech Alpha Strike

The biggest change is the appearance. I stripped out the artwork and replaced them with art from Shutterstock. There's a fair bit of reorganization done in Chapter 13 and 14, but most of the rules are the same.

After reviewing the contracts in the Mercenaries book, I decided I liked my contract better. It just made more sense to me. Despite some pricing changes in Mercenaries, I did some comparisons and they were "close enough" to what I had already listed so left everything in PV rather than converting to SP.

If you see anything that seems off, please let me know!

Lastly, I've published the book to DriveThruRPG as a free download with a Pay-What-You-Want option. With this option, it streamlines publication and notification and I don't have to manage the files in my personal cloud storage. I got feedback from Catalyst that my document doesn't violate their copyright, so as long as I'm not making tons of money from it, we should all be happy :D If you like what I'm working on, please drop a comment and review on DriveThru and consider checking out my other publications.
