*CONDOLENCE MESSAGE*

On behalf of the entire Benue State Universal Basic Education Board, I extend our deepest condolences to the family of His Royal Highness, the Tor Jechira,Chief Clement Uganden,the Jechira People, and the entire Benue State. We mourn the loss of a great leader, whose wisdom, guidance, and unwavering dedication to the welfare of his people have left an indelible mark on our hearts and history.

His Royal Highness was a beacon of hope and a source of inspiration for many. His contributions to the peace, unity, and progress of the Jechira People and beyond will forever be remembered. His passing is a profound loss, not only to the Tiv Traditional Council, The Jechira people but to the entire Benue State.

I condole with the Executive Governor Benue State Rev Fr Dr Hyacinth Iormem Alia and Our Dear Father Ter u kunav over the demise of His Royal Highness.

May the Almighty God grant the family, the Governor, the Tiv Traditional Council, the Jechira People and the entire Tiv Nation,the fortitude to bear this great loss, and may His Royal Highness rest in perfect peace.

Local fish pie hawker who is currently going viral on TikTok for his comic and melodious way of shouting “Fisssshhh Pieeee” while hawking in the streets has just received a big breakthrough !
Davido has sent him a one ticket invitation to his personal residence to come supply his fish pie.
Davido says he will be buying 1 fish pie for 500K so he should come with as much as possible.

GOV ALIA APPRECIATES BENUE PEOPLE FOR NOT JOINING THE NATIONWIDE PROTEST

Governor Hyacinth Alia sends his warm appreciation to the people of Benue, for heeding his words not to join the nationwide protest.

The Governor particularly praises the organised labour, trade unions, civil society organisations, the youth and other groups in the state for keeping to their word not to participate in the protest.

The Governor says the decision of the people to shelve the protest in the state demonstrates their firm belief in the policies of the APC led administration in the country, saying it is an indication that the people are willing to give the government more time to improve on their welfare.

Governor Alia equally assures the people of the State of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s unflinching love for Benue, stating that the numerous projects embarked upon by his administration across the length and breadth of the state, are as a result of the support and cordial relationship his administration has enjoyed from the Tinubu led federal government.

He promises to continue to do his best to provide them with good governance, insisting this is the only way he will justify the trust placed in him by the people of Benue.

He implores the people to continue to remain peaceful, going about their normal businesses throughout the period.

The Executive Chairman , of Benue State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr. Grace Adagba, yesterday 9th July 2024 inaugurated the newly appointed Local Government Area Education Secretaries across the 23rd Local Government Areas of the State at the SUBEB Headquarters Makurdi

While Congratulating the newly inaugurated Education Secretaries on their new role, the SUBEB BOSS Dr.Adagba Grace charges them to always put the interests of the state first in their new assignment.

It is the belief of the Executive Chairman of SUBEB that, as one of the seasonal academicians, as one who are creative, innovative, and productive, the Newly appointed Education Secretaries will fit into their new role to resuscitate, revamp, reposition and effectively manage their local government Educational Authorities for the effective Learning environment.

Did you know that Capt AB Bature, a member of the 64 Regular Course is the only cadet who has the highest awards in the history of the Academy till date.

Bature practically swept all the awards on offer during the Passing out Parade at the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna. He was so outstanding his statue was unveiled to perpetuate the memory of his sheer brilliance, focus, hard work and exceptional life of discipline.

Some of the awards ACA AB Bature won include the best graduating cadet of the 64RC, the ‘Indian Shield’, which is given to the best in cadet tactics; ‘Gold Medal Army’, which is given to the overall best among the army (cadets); and the ‘Golden Sword of Honour’, given to the best all-round cadet in academics, military courses, character and discipline.

ALIA DONATES RICE, COWS TO FEDERAL GOVERNMENT GIRLS' COLLEGE, GBOKO

The Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Dr Hyacinth Iormem Alia has donated 50 bags of rice and 8 cows to Federal Government Girls' College, Gboko to assist in feeding the students of the college.

Governor Alia made the donation Saturday, July 06, 2024 when he paid unofficial visit to the school while heading to Vandeikya for an official function.

He appreciated the school management and the students for the warm welcome accorded him and his entourage, describing all the students as his beautiful daughters who are future leaders.

The Governor, who also appreciated the neatness and physical outlook of the students, thanked the school management for taken proper care of them, adding that with that excellent feeding, the students will give a hundred percent concentration to their studies.

To also contribute in the feeding of the students, Governor Alia donated 50 bags of 50kg rice and eight cows which will be conveyed to the school immediately.

Governor Alia, who is the Frontline advocate of girl child education, advised the students to make their parents proud by giving their very best into their study lives as that would put them on the best of pedestals tomorrow.

Earlier in a welcome address, the Director/Principal of the school, Barr. Mrs.Idoreyin Omaselem Ejohuo said it was a remarkable day in the history of Federal Government Girls' College, Gboko as the school was receiving the Governor of the state for the first time since inception.

She appreciated the Governor for visiting their school and promised to continue to do their best with a view to ensuring that they remain one of the best girls' college in North Central Nigeria.
