End of an Era
Greetings fam! This month, we celebrated 23 years since the founding of Truly Blessed Media, as Truly Blessed Communications. I launched my business, as I was transitioning out of the Army. It was one of a few Truly Blessed brands, including Truly Blessed Gear and Truly Blessed Custom Tailoring.
Over the years, we have been through several phases and engaged in several ventures.
WTBC Radio (2000-2012) - 12 years of internet broadcasting a variety of genres of Christian music, At our high point, we had 5 stations with over 100,000 weekly listening hours.
Streams of Light featuring Dr. Norman Knight (2007-2009) - Weekly TV broadcast available in over 1 million homes each Sunday. For 14 months, the broadcast shared the gospel in the Michiana Metro, leading many souls to be baptized.
Truly Blessed Photography (launched May 2009) - Within a few years, became a premier brand for event coverage and promotional photography for Christian artists. Perfect 10 was launched to showcase plus-size models and eventually became the glamour arm of our photography brands.
I want to thank all those who have shown love and supported my efforts to provide affordable services to churches, nonprofit organizations, and Christian businesses. I am grateful to have helped many churches and individuals save tens of thousands of dollars, while providing them with professional visual media.
While we celebrate the journey, I want to announce the end of an era. As of the end of October 2022, I am retiring the Truly Blessed brand, along with Perfect 10 Photography, and rolling all of my services into Blue Senoj.
Those who have been following me have seen the soft launch of the brand, and now is the time to make the transition complete. With the retiring of Truly Blessed, comes the pruning of some proverbial fat. We will no longer offer discount website services. Future website services will be on a case by case basis for those who have budgeted for a professional quality web presence. We will continue providing photography, video production, and graphic design services. We also will continue offering media consulting, installation, and training.
By the end of the year, both Truly Blessed websites will be discontinued and as of this month, we will discontinue use of the Truly Blessed social media accounts. The content will remain, as many have shared and been tagged in the photos and videos, but no new content will be added. I encourage everyone to follow us on all platforms, including Tik Tok, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
I know some are wondering where Blue Senoj came from. It is actually over 31 years in the making. When I arrived on the campus of Oakwood College, back in 1989, I made a lot of friends. One friend, a young woman with Caribbean and Alabama roots, but raised in Georgia, gave me the nickname of Blue. It was odd, but she explained that she had never seen a black man with blue eyes before, plus her favorite color was blue.
Over the years, whenever we would cross paths, I would hear her distinctive raspy voice say, “Hey Blue” and I came to find out later that she didn’t even know my real name. Well, in 2014, after a chance encounter with her sister and an invitation to participate in a conference, I got a chance to connect with that young lady and engage in planning for ministry opportunities. And after having the opportunity to preach in Phenix City, AL in 2016, God saw fit to bring us together for love, ministry, and business. And that young lady is my beautiful wife, Natasha Walker Jones.
When we started dating, I discovered that to everyone she talked to about me and everyone I was introduced to, I was Blue. So, I got accustomed to being Blue and when I began thinking about a new brand, one that could operate within and without the Christian community, I knew I had to incorporate Blue. The second part of the name was easy. There are plenty of Jones’s in the world, but because I’m not your average…anything, I decided to flip my last name into Senoj.
What can you expect from Blue Senoj? First of all, you can expect professional visual media. I began 2022 with a self-evaluation and I’ve been intentional about professional development, throughout the year. My first area was to upgrade my skill in portrait and head shot photography. The result was our Last Minute Head Shot promotion.
My next area of focus is elevating my video production skills. I am grateful for the opportunity to shoot my man Dino’s “Where is the Love?” Music video (https://youtu.be/QRV8oIBpp0U), which has been viewed 10’s of thousands times on various platforms. But I have learned some new skills that I look forward to showcasing for my upcoming clients.
My final announcement is the launch of The Part-Time Professional training and consulting group. This is a private Facebook group for those who want to enhance their media production skills, but are either working full-time, a full-time student in another field, or maybe stay at home parent looking to do media part-time. For an introductory rate of only $5 a month, billed annually, you get access to my over 23 years of experience. We will have at least once a month live sessions and a number of pre-recorded content. The content will be created to answer the specific questions of the members. Slots are limited. Follow Blue Senoj on Facebook for more information.
Again, thank for taking time to read my story. I look forward to the awesome endeavors that we are about to undertake, through this new venture. I am grateful for all the support in the past, and know that with this pivot, greater is on the horizon. Again, be sure to like and follow us on all the major social media sites. If we can be of service to you, your business, or ministry, please reach out at [email protected]. Grace & Peace!
