Today (Maha Vad 14), we celebrate the festival of Maha Shivratri commemorating the day Bhagwan Shri Shankar manifested as Shivaling, or cylindrical murti form.

On this day, Hindus observe a fast all day and perform a special Shiva puja at night. Devotees offer bili leaves (aegle marmelos) and perform an abhishek of the Shivaling.

Devotees can visit the Mandir today from 9 am to 8 pm for darshan and to offer Abhishek.

Pujya Mahant Swami and sadguru sadhus, to the accompaniment of Vedic mantras, consecrated the murtis in the various shrines of the newly constructed shikharbaddh mandir in Jamnagar.

A short while earlier in Sarangpur on 17 January 2014, Pramukh Swami Maharaj had performed the Vedic murti-pratishtha ceremony and arti of the murtis to be consecrated at the new mandir in Jamnagar. This was the 35th shikharbaddh mandir consecration ceremony performed by Pramukh Swami Maharaj.
