Sooooo...here's me during different life phases through the most recent years. With a mix of being sentimental and trying to figure out how to repost all the old content I lost from my hacked account (thankfully I still have most of the content), here's one dump with some of my DJ and modeling era.
I started tinkering with DJing right after I raged-quit corporate life and started backpacking in 2019. Got my first official gig on Koh Phangan, Thailand that lasted 6 hours straight (which could have gone for 2 hours more if it weren't for the island curfew) on the 26th of June 2021 (right before the island lockdown). Then, continued playing at private house/villa parties for a while before heading back to the Philippines in 2022. I decided it wouldn't hurt if i tried going all-in as a DJ while getting to know people and the nuisances of the local scene. I got my first PH gig at Z Hostel Philippines , and then my first music festival in May 2022. I'm always going to be forever grateful to everyone who gave me a chance and supported me this whole time.
It's been a little more than 2.5 years now, and I know I still have a lot to learn, but I'm ridiculously grateful to all the people, friends and mentors I learned so much from. No words can express the gratitude I have for all the opportunities I've gotten -- from the gigs, to getting to the semifinals of the AlphaTheta/𝐏𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐃𝐉 - 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 competition in 2023, to even doing Fête de la Musique PH and a lot of private events in Manila, Tokyo and Thailand (again in 2024).
It was quite fascinating when someone asked me a few weeks ago if I had any idea I'd be in this career path when I was younger. It made me giggle a bit when I said I didn't, because even I didn't know I'd find myself in this position. Others could call it a midlife crisis, or luck, or fate, but I'm honestly loving every bit of it, even if I started so late in life.
It's been such a wild ride with a lot of ups and downs (and quite a few health challenges I'm healing and getting stronger from). I'm excited, for what the future holds!
Anyway, I'll eventually figure out how to sort out my archive of my yoga, freediving, travelling, & nomadic eras soon! OkThanksByeForNow!
