This week's NCS SEEN AND HEARD roundup moves in even more divergent directions than usual, starting off in a raging fury and ending with melancholic rock, with other dramatic divergences along the way. This collection includes songs from forthcoming records by No/Más (U.S.), NOISE AHOLIC (Finland, via Elitbolaget), VREID (OFFICIAL) (Norway), TANIN'IVER (Australia, via MSH Music Group), and De l’Abîme Naît l’Aube (Switzerland), and a posthumously released solo album by SINDRE NEDLAND, a member of In Vain and Funeral prior to his passing last spring. Hey friends, Varoshan’s epic debut …And Then the Rains Came" is in stock on a limited cassette (60 pcs). If you missed it in 2022, you still have time to join the eternal night. Varoshan is for fans of Neurosis, Converge, My Dying Bride, et al. Here's a glimpse of what NO CLEAN SINGING had to say back in 2022:

The album moves through a slow, dark, gritty blend of hardcore ethos and atmospheric weight across six tracks — including the long-form pieces “The Crow”, “The Wrath”, “The Tyrant”, “The Message”, and “The Snake” — Varoshan shape a sound marked by heavy, jarring grooves, raw vocals, bleak melodies, and occasional glimmers of electronic eeriness. The performances are striking throughout, with dynamic shifts that keep the music unsettling and immersive. “The Message” also features a haunting guest appearance by Riina Rinkinen (Silentium). And the closing track, “The Snake”, slips into a gothic shade unlike the rest — quietly entrancing in its own way.

There's not much to add, so go and listen to it on Spotify, Bandcamp, etc. (links in comments) and then get Varoshan’s debut on tape. It is still available from Recordshopx.com and from Elitbolaget's bandcamp (links in comments).
