A few weeks back we met up with Genevieve Tudor from BBC Shropshire to record a collection of stories taken from 'The Folklore of the Tanat Valley - Chwedlau Gwerin Dyffryn Tanat' for their 'Secret Shropshire' series, on location at Llanymynech Hill.

The church of St. Tysilio, in Llandysilio (Four Crosses) could easily be missed, now severed from the village by a bypass. But within the church lies a curious tale, of the spirit of a fly and its battle with a local cunning man.

We had a great time at oriel AWEN gallery gallery last night, celebrating the launch of 'The Folklore of the Tanat Valley - Chwedlau Gwerin Dyffryn Tanat' by Dr. Jack Hunter.

Thank you to everyone who attended and bought a copy of the book.

Jack gave a wide-ranging talk covering UFOs in the Berwyn Mountains, cunning men and modern fairy lore, before being presented with a cywydd (a form of traditional Welsh rhyming verse) written specially for the occasion by Sioned Camlin.

Huge thanks to Brian Jones and oriel AWEN gallery for all their help on the night.
