Bishop Louie completed his elementary education at La Consolacion Academy in Iriga City in 1984. Encouraged by six of his classmates, he enrolled in the Holy Rosary Minor Seminary in Naga City for high school.
Initially, priesthood was not his primary focus, but his seminary years paved the way for his entry into the priestly ministry. He graduated from high school in 1988 and went on to earn degrees in Philosophy (1992) and Theology (1996) from the Holy Rosary Major Seminary, also in Naga City. Among his most cherished memories from seminary life are the annual summer mission apostolates, where seminarians were assigned to parishes.
Upon his ordination, Bishop Louie embarked on various pastoral assignments, serving as a parish priest in several communities. His dedication to his parishioners and his commitment to the Church's mission were evident in his pastoral work, where he focused on uplifting the spiritual and social well-being of his congregation. He also took an active role in diocesan initiatives, contributing to the development of programs that addressed the needs of the marginalized and the underprivileged.
In addition to his pastoral duties, Bishop Louie pursued further studies to enhance his theological and pastoral expertise. He attended various workshops and seminars, both locally and internationally, to stay abreast of contemporary issues facing the Church and society. His continuous learning and deepening of knowledge were driven by a desire to serve his community better and to address the evolving challenges of modern pastoral care.
Bishop Louie's journey in the priesthood has been marked by a profound sense of vocation and a steadfast commitment to his calling. His experiences, both in the seminary and in his subsequent pastoral roles, have shaped him into a compassionate and visionary leader.
He remains dedicated to fostering a vibrant and inclusive Church, one that responds to the spiritual needs of its people and actively engages with the broader societal issues of justice and peace.
