The UK Government has announced their backing of British Athletics bid to bring the World Athletics and Para Athletics Championships back to London in 2029 🥳

In a statement Prime Minister Keir Starmer said; “Bringing the World Athletics Championships to the UK would be moment of great national pride, building on our global reputation for hosting memorable sporting events that showcase the very best talent."

“Hosting these championships would not only unlock opportunities for UK athletes but it would inspire the next generation to get involved and pursue their ambitions."

WHAT A FINISH 😨

Will Barnicoat took the win in the men’s 1500m A race, clocking in at 3:40:02!

But that last 100m was incredible with the large group all hunting down the finish line!

The top eight even ended up finishing within one second of each other - wow.

Women’s 800m A: Italy’s Marta Zenoni takes gold with a meeting record of 1:59.79!

She beat both Isabelle Boffey and Shaikira King to the line after a tight battle over two laps.

It was a quick race despite the heat, with the top four all running under the previous meeting record!

And we’re underway here in Watford with the 400mH!

The men’s B race was won by Charalampos Charatsidis in 52.75s while the A race was won by Edward Laws in 51.86s.

Stephanie Okoro won the women’s race in 57.98s, clocking her sixth time under European U20 qualifying standard this year!
