The End of an Era. 🥹✈️
After more than 55 years of groundbreaking service, the legendary AV-8B Harrier II has officially taken its final bow. During an emotional Sundown Ceremony at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, the BULLDOGS of VMA-223 flew the last operational Harrier mission, marking the end of one of military aviation's most iconic chapters.
From battlefields to aircraft carriers, the "Jump Jet" amazed the world with vertical takeoffs, combat power, and unmatched versatility. Now, the torch passes to the next generation as the F-35B Lightning II takes its place.
Farewell, Harrier. Your legacy will never leave the skies. 🇺🇸🔥
