54 Film Fest - Middle Tennessee The 54 Film Fest kicks off its 14th year in 2025, as we continue inspiring spontaneous movie making. That's 9 whole days: 5 weekdays and 4 on weekends.

The 54 Film Fest is a timed film challenge designed to help filmmakers network, have an outlet for their creative talent, and ultimately be inspired to create better films and build the film community. The 2025 competition will hold the Inception Meeting on Friday, February 28th between 5pm and 6pm CST. The elements will be announced at this time, and genres will be assigned to teams. The Inceptio

n Meeting will be available online for all teams participating in the festival. For the 2025 competition, we're offering two separate time options with separate awards. Movie makers may choose our skydiving adventure of 54 Hours to make a film or have more time and create a movie in 5+4 Days. So why choose one versus the other? 54 Hours offers a weekend adventure filled with spontaneous creativity and helps you knock out a finished project in a little over 2 days. The 5+4 provides you with more time if your schedule and health don't permit a non-stop, sleepless weekend... more time to plan... more time in production... and more time in post. 54 Hour participants will stack up against those who make films in 54 hours, while the 5+4 movie makers will compete with those who make films in 9 days. The question is: Do you have 54 Hours or 5+4 Days? More time could mean better quality, but it could mean stiffer competition... so choose wisely, Film Peeps!

54 Hour film submissions should be shared with [email protected] prior to midnight CST on Sunday, March 2nd. 5+4 teams should submit their movies by Sunday, March 9th at 6pm CST. The premiere screening will light up the silver screen on April 1st at the Malco Smyrna Cinema. The 54 Film Fest will hold its Filmmaker Appreciation Ceremony on April 4th at NECAT Network at Nashville State Community College in Nashville. Additional information may be found at 54filmfest.org.
