Ahhh Luna. She left me a gift early this morning (a pile of 🤮). They say it’s the thought that counts so I was happy (moms all know about gushing over crappy gifts). Then, she wanted to take me for a light dinner. Thinking “what a sweet gesture” I said yes. Bitch forgot her wallet so I had to pick up the check. Love her anyway!!! Luckiest mom in the world.

When I heard Rhubarb closed in Asheville, I was sad. I had some truly memorable meals made with thoughtful, local ingredients. Happy to say its little sister, The Rhu, is delightful. Had the southern grits, topped with collard greens, local mushrooms, and a jammy egg. Paired with a latte made with house made brown butter and vanilla syrup. Such a delightful bit of Southern cooking and a soulful start to a rainy day.

Happy Mother’s Day to Luna. My sweet girl had countless babies as a breeder dog for years until she was rescued and then adopted. She made me a mom and I stopped her vicious cycle. Now we toast with a beer
