NEW EPISODE 🎙️

She represents hundreds of record labels. She's also not afraid to challenge Silicon Valley.

Dr Jo Twist OBE is CEO of the BPI - one of the most influential figures in British music. 25 years across the BBC, Channel 4 and the music industry, and an OBE for services to the creative sector.

In this episode, she sits down with Blinding Talent CEO Mark Adams to talk about what actually gives British artists their global edge, why "overnight success" is a myth, and AI’s impact on the music industry.

Her take on the need for generative AI technologies to be developed responsibly, in a way that supports human creativity, is blunt: "There's nothing wrong with disruption. There is a lot wrong with destruction."

If you care about where music is heading, this is the conversation to pay attention to.

If you've ever queued for a gig, screamed the words back at your favourite artist, or had one of those nights at The O2 you still talk about - this is the man who made it possible.

Haven't watched this one yet? Fix that.

Diving back into a classic from Season 1. Billie Eilish's first London show. 200 people in the room. One of them was this man.

Sol Parker has booked some of the biggest names in music - The Prodigy, Lady Gaga, Take That - but he still talks about this one differently. Half the room in tears the moment she played "Ocean Eyes."

He'd seen that kind of energy before, at boyband shows. This wasn't that. This was a room reacting to a young woman, not a heartthrob - and everyone in the building could feel the difference.

Sol grew up backstage, made tea for Kurt Cobain at 18, and has spent thirty years reading rooms like this one. He knew what he was watching.
