I do love a good ruin, me 😎🏰

Our walk from Shipley Bridge to Avon Dam today didn't fail to impress, with the route taking you past the ruins of the former Brentmoor House (also known as Brent Manor).

Previous owners include Francis Meynell, an ex-naval servicemen who also became an artist amusing his retirement, some of his work being displayed today in the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich. Meynell's story brings with it his own personal tragedies, with the death of both his five-year-old daughter Mary and fifteen-month-old son Geoffrey during his five-year ownership of the property.

Brentmoor House later became a youth hostel before being abandoned and demolished in 1968, just over a decade after the completion of the Avon Dam a couple of miles away.

‼️NEW NAME, SAME GREAT CONTENT ‼️

Those of you who are particularly eagle-eyed may have spotted new artwork and references to a new name over on my YouTube channel recently. I've taken to decision to move the channel from 'Dead Men's Tales Podcast Network' which I thought was a bit clunky and not fully reflective, to 'Dead Men's Tales & Turnbuckles'.

I have also been busy trying to update video thumbnails to give everything a fresher look but still have some way to go, but hope you'll agree that it's already looking a hell of a lot cooler 😎

You'll still be able to find all of my main podcasts there, including my wrestling endeavours on and 'Go Figure!', my BTCC show 'Reverse Grid' and the big brother of all my series, 'Dead Men Talk'.

🚨‼️ NEW EPISODE ALERT ‼️🚨

Steve Alten is best known for his international bestselling debut 'Meg: A Novel of Deep Terror', which spawned not only a hugely successful book series but also two Hollywood blockbuster movies starring 🦈📽

It was also Steve's 'Mayan Prophecy' trilogy which inspired me to write my series, meaning he is also one of the main reasons why I not only became a writer but also, as a result, the reason this podcast even exists.

In this interview, Steve talks about his journey to becoming a writer, the transition of the Meg from page to big screen (including his own experiences and thoughts on the movie itself), through to challenges faced when writing the Mayan Prophecy, and also updates on his current WIPs, including the Meg finalé 'Meg: Purgatory' and the third instalment in The Loch series, 'Heaven Lake.'
