Did you know the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution was ratified 100 years ago today? While the right to vote for all women would continue for decades, today we celebrate the first suffragists who came together to achieve this game-changing victory.

Have time for an interesting backstory? Check out this article from NPR - "The final step to secure women that right to vote hinged on a young legislator who switched his vote to yes — after his mom asked him to." 😉 https://n.pr/327iYe4

We recently had the privilege of partnering with Richmond local, Mercedes Moore aka , to support the Black Mental Health Alliance, a non-profit dedicated to connecting Black Americans and other marginalized communities with mental health services.

We believe strongly that positive change happens in our communities when everyday people stand up and show up for what they believe in. Mercedes shows up everyday with honesty and authenticity to share the highs and lows of her motherhood journey, and stands up for the causes she believes in.

Well look at this!

Two American Lodestar advisors – Sarah Lenti, Executive Director of
The Lincoln Project, and Robb Ryerse, Political Director of Vote Common Good – are teaming up to sway voters this November. Regardless of where you fall on the political spectrum, it’s encouraging to see conservatives and progressives *finding common ground* in our polarizing times.

The Trump-baiting Lincoln Project will work with Vote Common Good to urge GOP faith voters to support Joe Biden.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the average 2018 voting rate for Congressional Districts (aka voting in members of congress) was less than fifty percent of eligible voters. Fewer than half of us used the privilege the founders gave us to participate in our government by and for the people!

With 2020 being a pivotal election year, your vote matters more than ever. US.gov provides voter registration information for every state (39 states plus the District of Columbia allow online voter registration!). Already registered? Help others do the same by volunteering with nonpartisan organizations like HeadCount.org, RockTheVote.org and League of Women Voters, lwv.org. 👊
