In memory of the extraordinary Jennifer Martelli, we’re honored to share this excerpt of her crown of sonnets, “1979,” which will appear in its entirety in our next issue. Jenn’s poem was selected by Marilyn Chin as a finalist for the BPJ’s 2024 Adrienne Rich Award for Poetry. Her golden lines will stay with us.
